CX racing turbo kit

Anyone on here have experience with CXracings turbo kit? I知 looking to hit low to mid 400s and call my build good (I say that now but I値l probably be back looking for more haha). I plan on pulling my bottom end and installing a forged low compression piston kit with forged rods. Im adding new injectors and fuel pump soon. I知 currently running E85 so I don稚 think my numbers are unrealistic. I値l probably buy a better turbo down the road but I was looking at this kit just as a good way to go NA-T then build and tune in the turbo set up. I do plan on having the car dyno tuned, I don稚 feel like limiting performance or blowing my setup because of a cheap off the shelf tune.

I have this kit. It was a lot of work to get all the flanges flat on the manifold. I hit 330whp at 17 psi with the turbo this came with on a stock engine. I think you'd be able to hit 400whp on e85 but it'll be a stretch depending on the compression ratio you choose.

Just get a different kit. I had to also have a custom overpipe made because the one supplied really just wouldn't fit well. I'm building my engine now and I'm putting on a JDL turbo manifold and strapping a GTX3076R to it, same goals. I kick myself for not just getting JDLs kit that comes with that turbo, I would've saved myself some money.

With that said, after getting the manifold flanges flattened, and not using their overpipe, it ran great.
Oh, I also did not run a BOV and used a turbosmart wastegate, not the shit they provided.

Sounds like I値l be better off in the long run getting a kit like the JDL one, thanks for the help man.

I had the same idea - I wanted a cheap variant that I could just swap turbos on and be flexible with, but it was not worth it. I used a promo code that was going on and got the whole kit for $1,600. I then had to spend at least 6 hours sanding flanges, Paid $800 for custom exhaust work, paid another $50 to get the BOV flange blocked off (my choice), install took at least 15 hours longeer than it was supposed to because of these things. Intercooler piping was off, so I had to get a pipe made because the existing one just wasn't made right.

THen, to meet my goals, I spent another $1,800 on a turbo and now my downpipe won't match the turbo I bought so I'p[m going to need more exhaust work and intercooler work since the piping is a different diameter, etc.

I wish I had just gone JDL and gotten the equal length setup. I could've avoided so much headache. Anyway, I don't mean to ramble; just trust me, please.

I'm a cheap ass as well, was shopping around when I wanted to go turbo and glad I didn't go with CX Racing.

Never installed a turbo kit before but it took me 2 days (JDL), I have experience working on motorcycles but never cars. I would spend the extra money not to fabricate the CXRacing parts.

That said, I've read through a lot of posts that say the rods won't be the ones that give out first, it's the tranny. Apparently 4th gear just shatters. Then your rods will go next.
