Bringing the car back to the dealer today. I called them up and they said they didn't have any loaners, but I could pay for a rental out of my own pocket. Called Subaru right after that and they said they'd reimburse me. EL OH EL

When I dropped it off on Saturday morning, the smell of gas filled up the entire drop-off area. Dealership just called and said that they couldn't find anything wrong with the car.

Who wants to bet that the problem is still there? LOL

If the car gets viscontuned by the dealership, I'm going to be VERY angry.

The new pump is still crap. Mine is chirping super loud regardless of temperature and gas I put in it. Toyota still hasn't given me any kind of resolution or willing to replace the pump again. Waiting till after the holidays to contact them again.

Put some 2T oil in your tank at a 1:1000 ratio. Works for everyone who does it, including me.

I purchased my FRS back on June 16th 2013, I've had crickets since the second week (400 miles) I've been keeping tabs on this forum to see if anyone has a permanent fix and it seems no one does! I don't want to waste my time getting a new pump just for the crickets to return. I will have them make a note of the issue at my first service in January. Toyota needs to get their sh*t together.

The one time I used non-ethanol gas, the chirps did go away. The only issue is...the nearest non-ethanol station is 2+ hours away from me...

Over 3,000k on the oct 17th pump now and haven't heard one chirp.

Other than the one dude I think the pump has been successful, which leads me to believe he got a different pump or his stealership screwed it.

They haven't said otherwise. The dealership was tracking down up to the supply and where mine came from to make sure I got a new one. I might have them just order a new one and try again. The chirping is worse than my first pump...

Yea that's really odd, at some point you'd think they would stop tracking where it came from and just put in a new one, it's defective that's all that really matters. Are they not putting in another pump for you? I know one guy with an frs in my town who also got the fix, he hasn't logged as many miles but his works fine.

I really do think this pump is the fix, unfortunately for you, your fix sounds like it came broke lol

I believe I was the first one to post on the new Oct 17 part number for scion and to have it installed. My crickets have returned too.

damn how many miles did you do before they returned? are they going to switch out the pump again for you?

maybe just a few bad pumps of the new batch going around?

my understanding was that this new oct 17 tsb was a completely re-designed part, but ill be waging a shitwar on my stealership if my chirping comes back, to many tsbs and complaints for this to be going on this long.
