Your clay bar of choice?

Title is pretty much it, just looking for more opinions I searched a bit but still looking for a consensus on who makes the most effective one.
Thanks!

mothers makes an easy to use over the counter clay bar. These days I don't use it very much though

if there is a lot of contamination, and I plan to polish the vehicle, I use clay magic (blue). For the most part no issues but on some softer paints it could marr a bit. Thus why I tend to only use this is polishing is planned

For most light duty work, on vehicles that may or may not get polished I use Pinnacle ultra poly clay (available from autogeek / palm beach motoring group)

There is also the speedy prep towel and the nanoskin. More for the full time detailers though. Higher risk of marring but they tend to be faster

tip: clean your clay before remolding it. blackfire makes a clay cleaner but its pricey. I use diluted Optimum power clean. A few squirts of OPC and a rinse under warm water will remove a lot of crap that wont get refolded into the clay.

I've tried many and swear by Griots. Works great and you get a very large piece in a nice screw-top air-tight container. Worth the slight extra cost IMO.

How many scratches did you find while doing this? I am almost to 3000 miles and I feel like I am constantly finding scratches. Possibly from daily driving on roads where the gravel is not cleaned up but every time I wash my car I can't help but curse and yell "I hate owning a black car!"

All clay is made by the same manufacturer and branded by the individual companies and colored to differentiate the companies. Just FYI

I use Adams clay bar. They all work the same as far as effectiveness goes.

I only have about 1,700 miles and I have a lot of tiny scratches. It's all just thin clearcoat washing/drying scratches, nothing a two step swirl remover and a good coat of wax can't fix

For 30 bucks and under, I go for whatever's on sale. Mothers vs. Meguiar's is approximately the same for me. I do like the coconut-like scent that comes with the Meguiar's detailer though. Mother's detailer is kind of minty.

Mother's claybar kit was 22 bucks last week. and Meguiar's was still 26-27 bucks. I bought Mother's.

Either does the job. If I'm not owning a supercar, I'm not paying for super-car cleaning products.
