Sounds more like a rant or special pleading Just because a tutorial exists doesn’t mean it is too complex.

I don't think you're ranting against progress, but against trends. And the "put everything on a touch screen" trend is slowly being reversed. Plenty of cars went back to physical HVAC and audio/tuning controls after a stint with touchscreens.
Another trend is capacitive touch buttons, presumably as a kind of compromise between touchscreen controls and physical buttons. Luckily not all manufactures drink that Kool Aid.

Ugh capacitive buttons are the worst of both worlds. The limitation of a single purpose button combined with the missing feedback of a touch screen.

They’re just cheap, that is the only reason they’re used.

Other trim levels, such as the $67,500 Explore and $73,000 Adventure, are slated to begin deliveries in early 2022, although the precise date Rivian will begin delivery of the R1S SUV has not yet been determined. In any case, I wouldn't expect it to be earlier than spring 2022. It will be a nice toy, but I don't think that I am ready to pay so much for it. I better go on https://www.truckexporter.co.uk/ and find a used model, which has the same specs almost, but it's a few times cheaper.
