That could be a new torture technique! Instead of waterboarding, use people as slalom cones!

Or make them listen to Justin Bieber for 3 days straight non-stop.

I thought we were talking about torture, not the best 3 days of life.

The funny part was that I was thinking about doing the exact same thing too--as in, flying out there and renting a mustang. How would that play out?

I don't so am always trading in a car after 5 years for about 30% of what I paid for it. In this case I may as well be leasing and getting a new car every 3 years but the mileage restrictions make this too expensive for me.
...and I'm the opposite. I pay cash for the car then typically drive it at least 10 years/250K miles. It may fall down in status (weekend/daily driver) somewhere along that continuum but I usually don't get rid of a car until it is no longer driveable/repairable.

Sounds like a battle royale/mass slaughter in the making to me.

Well one of us needs to rent a Challenger so we can at least rep the most common completion.

Se that is just it I do that any miles in 5 years and once I have to start repairing out of warranty it just does not make sense so I trade before I have to start doing repairs. In the under two years I have owned the car I have already chewed up both levels of warranty based on mileage alone. Even the Mitsu "10 year" warranty meant very little to me due to miles driven. It is also important that I get paid mileage so am really not losing any money doing things the way I do. If circumstances were different then I would likely do the same as you.

Yea, if I was in your situation (reimbursement for mileage, etc) I'd be closer to what you do. In fact when I got my new '85 MR2 it was paid for by my employer through expense reimbursement. They went from a model where they provided a car (Ford LTD station wagon) to providing mileage/stipend. They sold us the company car we had for the residual lease value, I flipped it (to my brother-in-law) made $7,000 on the deal and used the stipend to cover the rest of the car purchase.
