Top Speed Pro-1 Catback -- Review

Unboxing -
Everything was packaged very well, no dings. I set the exhaust up in my living room, and the hangers looked slightly different from right and left.

The tips look awesome, and everything looks great.

Installation -
Issue 1: The stock spring bolts near the cat do not fit through the Top Speed midpipe flange.

This made for a day of open exhaust when I couldn't bolt everything on after Home Depot closed.

I called Top Speed and they said.. "Use the stock bolts!" They obviously have no clue. Annoying.

Issue 2: My friend and I had to muscle the exhaust to get it close to fitting.. it really doesn't want to fit right. The exhaust hangers are complete crap. I can't believe this left the facility. With all 4 hangers connected, my right tip was touching the valance and the left tip was sticking out 1 inch and 3" lower than the valence.

But for the price, I'll gladly spend $50 to have a shop weld new hangers on. It looks like Top Speed just tacked the hangers on freehand. We took some hangers off to help it twist clockwise.

This is where I'm at right now (not bad, wish I had the other pics):

Sound -
Awesome. It sounds good. Slight drone at 3-5k, but it sounds good.

Conclusion -
Definitely worth the money. Sounds good, looks good. Just gotta work to make it fit.

You weren't looking hard enough. Either you read reviews that were placed there by the manufacturer, or you just didn't see any of the posts by people on here saying their exhausts are complete shit.

damn, i saw the reviews for the axle back, which were all crooked. didnt see much for their catback. Still not bad for $400 honestly, even if its crosseyed. im cheap

its strange how nice this catback is, yet how bad it fits

I made the mistake of buying their headers. Bought new ones a week later. Just crap, flanges warped to hell.

It's because Hahn used to promote them and he has a very respectable build. Top Speed sucks though. Period. This thread needs a sticky.

Looks just like the manzo exhaust. They sound killer with a little drone above 3.5k revs but I agree, hangers are sh!t. Have to fiddle with them to get them to hang the tips right.

For the price it is worth it in my opinion

Yeah bad gas mileage too. I think they made my right foot a lot heavier

My Dad has an exhaust guy for me to take it to but it'll be a few weeks. I'll update pics after we get the car in the air.

Definitely can't complain too much for the money spent.

If you have problems with fitment call them up. They are usually good at trying to make things right.

Just put this exhaust on this past week. Sounds amazing. The fitment wasn't perfect but then again I have never had a "bolt on" part that didn't require a little bit of massaging to get it to fit right. That is part of the fun of working on cars in my opinion. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it is VERY close to the frame, almost touching, where it goes under the rear suspension mounting point. Keeps it up off the ground though. The good thing is that the tips are actually even in the rear. Also, their customer service is outstanding. I had a few questions. Sent them an email from their website's "contact me" section and I had a phone call response first thing the next morning. Overall I am happy with this exhaust so far. We will see how it holds up over the miles.
