LOL at COBB for fumbling the ball on their decision to wait it out for the TWINs. These cars are amazing and people are willing to pay for even small increases in HP. Keep in mind that COBB has been lagging behind in the GT-R community as well and ECUTEK has been the ones that have been truly creating new and awesome innovations. I could buy 10 COBB APs right now for the GT-R at a huge discount from the original purchase price because people have given up on COBB and switched to ECUTEK. I own neither and both my GT-R and my BRZ are stock but when I decide that it is time to start tuning it will be with ECUTEK. One ECUTEK cable would tune all 3 of my cars…

It is so sad when you see major companies with good names lose their competitive edge. Too bad that COBB didn't feel it necessary to grace us and our platform with their product but from what I have seen in the GT-R community maybe we should thank them.

Cheers,

-Nate

ive been so upset that it didnt get launched for us. to me its a terrible business decision since there are thousands of us who would buy it. its the easiest tuning application and just all the awesome things it has integrated in it. gauges, afr, boost, oil temp, pressure, data log. id personally love to have an AP if it was available.

they definitely missed their opportunity. Now that ecutek has retail level tuning, cobb has no chance in this market. why support a company that won't support you?

I had an AP for my 07 STI. Loved it, especially when I went stage 2. After my car was totaled Cobb Unmarried my AP for me. It's been sitting on my shelf for years now - would so love to use it on a BRZ.

From the ads and forum talk as well as the FRS/BRZ's I see at the different local gatherings not very many people are doing things with these cars anyways. I've also spoke to Cobb and they see the same things. At this point in these platforms lives it would almost be financially irresponsible to sink R&D and advertising money in this project when they already have proven platforms and enthusiasts. Remember, FRS/BRZ enthusiasts have no identity at this point. Do they actually spend money or is this car a shortcut for someone who can't afford a more proven platform?

Cobb makes some great products but honestly I don't think I would buy anything from them. I know people who have had shady dealings with them so count me out. I don't want to go into anymore detail in case they or someone they know reads this forum. I don't want them to make it difficult for people I know. You can PM me if you want to know more.

Cobb will not produce an Accessport for a normally aspirated car. The gains are too small, their client base expect more.

Also, they do not have the ECU cracked for these cars AFAIK, that is the domain of Ecutek. There is probably a private agreement with them and FHI, or they spent tons of money over the years on reverse engineering.

Want an Accessport? Get a WRX to go with it!
