Bren from BrenTuning in Worcester, MA is probably the best tuner for subarus/bmw's in the north east. Got my 08 sti dyno tuned for $400 and it made 300whp/350wtq with no other mods. Drove the car 20k miles in under a year before I traded it in on a 14 BRZ. Not sure if he'll do BRZ's, but I have a hunch he will. Very easy to work with and really knows his stuff.

Should we add a list of detailers and PDR services too?

If you want a list of good detailing services too.
Unique Car Care Stoneham, MA http://www.uccboston.com/ A couple other people have also recommended Driven Perfection as well but I cannot comment on them as I have never used them.

For tradiaitonal work, Schaller's shop did an efficient and quality job on my passenger quarter panel. Easy to work with, at the time the BRZ/FRS wasn't in the computers yet so they had to adjust everything by hand, they were really thorough. I don't think they do anything custom, I didn't have any projects so I didn't ask.

I do like schaller a lot. They are actually just down the street from me. I have had work done by them before in my previous cars. Just a little pricey compared to many other places.

Anyone know a good detailer on the north shore? Closer to Reading/Wilmington/Woburn would be ideal.

I paid $325 last April, but going to be paying $495 for a compound polish and opticoat in a couple weeks. If you just need a single stage polish, it'll probably be closer to $325-350 as I'm guessing they raised their prices. This is for exterior only.
They can do some AMAZING things with a buffer, but I would strongly recommend you go over your expectations for what you want out of the detail job. This goes with anyone you'd go to though. As in if there are any specific spots you want cleaned up, you need to know if it's something that the detailer can do. Some people want that deep wet carnuba wax look and others are fine with a polymer look. I should also add that this isn't some 4 hours and done detailer. They will take as much time as they feel they need to get the job done right. When I brought my car last year, I arrived late(6pm) and had to leave early(10:30pm), so I only had a 4 hour window and Rick really did not want me to take the car home...haha. They did a GREAT job buffing out a hit from a shopping cart on my mirror which was actually pretty deep. Well worth it for that alone. I wish they took before and after pics. My car wasn't in terrible shape, but I should've given them 6-8 hours, which is something you should plan on. Last edited by AznBRZer; 03-05-2014 at 12:53 PM. |

Great, thanks for the info.
My paint was a-ok in my opinion before the snow hit, but I've been driving it full-time throughout this shitfest of a winter and I have no idea what it'll look like when I finally give it a wash. I've been avoiding automated washes because I don't want to damage it, but it's too shitty out to wash it myself, so entropy has taken hold and it hasn't seen a sponge since November. I'm not sure it needs the kind of attention these guys provide. Might just need a really competent hand-wash, etc. Also not sure I'm prepared to spend that much on it. But I guess I have some thinking to do. |

Looking for a list of independent mechanical Subaru or Toyota shops in the Boston area...... Has such a list been compiled on this forum to date?
This would be helpful information. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
