2018 brz fogs on with high and low beams
Good afternoon everyone! OK, heres my question: how do i rewire my fogs so that they stay on even when i have the high beams on? I want to simply by-pass whatever it is that causes them to turn off when I switch to the high beams. I do quite a bit of early morning driving in a very rural area with a ton of deer. Every single little bit of extra light that i can get to the ditches is extra time to be on my brakes when i see them. I'd appreciate any help i can get towards this issue.

Unsure if it can be done on our cars but I did it by jumping a diode at my BCM in my 2014 GMC Sierra. Maybe someone will chime in.

Hmmm...from the lack of any replies I'm guessing that its not as simple as I had hoped. I'm sure im not the only one to want to do this. I guess the electrical engineering community must either not use fog lights for anything but fog OR they just don't drive nice cars like we do! Thanks for the info on the chev.

Most people would want to turn their dog lights on with just the parking lights on. I’m sure that can be done easily. But never heard someone wanting to have the dog lights on along with the high beams. Hopefully you’d find a way...

Really?!?! Who wouldn't want as much light as they can get? I guess I can understand that if you're only ever in the inner city, but otherwise...

I have considered doing this also. My planned approach is to tap into the energized part of the high beam relay and jumper it to the trigger terminal on the relay for the fog light.

Thank you for the info! I'm certainly no electrical engineer, so is there any chance you might know where i could find a schematic for the the lights? The difference between hi and low is just a moving flap and not an actual change of the lighting element, correct? Still wondering if the the low being on is triggering something or if its the hi beam being switched on that is the trigger to disable the fogs. Breaking a ground circuit maybe? If that was the case, it could be as simple as cutting the trigger wire from the hi beam. I hope, I hope, I hope! lol! If i find anything, Ill be sure to post it!

Try asking here as well: Got a headlight or foglight question? ASK here.
