Where's a good mechanic in Markham/Unionville area?

Hey All,

Hoping this isn't the wrong area for this but I need a local mechanic that you'd guys would recommend in the Markham/Unionville area.

I'm rather close to Pacific Mall if that makes any more sense geographically.

I just need to take it in to either have the brakes or bearings looked at, since I'm new to the area I don't know of any trustworthy mechanics yet.

I'd go to my old trusted guy back in Oshawa but I don't want to risk driving that far.

Reason I'm asking is that I don't want to get taken for a ride and be told I need to fix a bunch of things for thousands of dollars when I know its only one or possibly two issues.

Appreciate it,

-DN.

You looking for a good mechanic in general or someone good with Subaru motors?

There are a good amount of shops around the Bullock drive area by Markville Mall.

iGarage, Speedstar are just two that I visit often.

Just a good mechanic in general, you know the type of guy that'll only work on something if it needs to be done...

I just hate going some new place and being told that my car needs something replaced that's totally unrelated to the problem at hand.

I'm driving a Mazda atm so it doesn't have to be any particular car brand.

I'll check out iGarage and Speedstar though, thanks.

Any recommendations for Subaru engines in particular in the Brampton/Mississauga/Milton area?

I couldn't trust my current mechanic with a new car lol

I'll second Ivan at iGarage. Its a small operation but my bro and I bring all minor stuff to him for no BS assessments, anything out of league he's straight with you and tells you where to go to do it.

I think he specializes in Hondas but for basic stuff he's fine (I used to bring my old Mazda3 to him for small stuff)

^ ivan's awesome!

I recommend colin @ teknotik. He's literally a mad scientist. I've never met anyone with such strong diagnostic skills.

Jason @ Apex or Can Jam in thornhill are good options too for Subarus.

for sauga/btown area.

Robinson Automotive services in sauga
NV Auto or Japanese Automotive in Milton

Whenever it comes to a mechanic go take a visit and ask him some questions to see what his attitude and level of knowledge is like. Not all mechanics lie.. Though alot of them do.

I'd recommend iGarage on Bullock street as well.

He's very familiar with Subarus, a large number of his customers are STis

Super honest mechanic.

If it's for your Mazda, you can give Jimmy a try at Street Performance. A lot of the TM3 guys swear by him.

iGarage

Definite recommend on iGarage - great work and prices. Honest and reliable as well. I've also referred other coworkers and friends to Ivan. He should have some knowledge on Subaru's soon too since he's got one.
