Not true. Please don't spread misinformation.

This is a cheaper process than what Rays Enginering (Volk), BBS, and Taneisha (Champion, Dinan, OZ) does. Then you can have a die forged wheel (Volks, BBS, Champion) that starts with a hot forging process where the face is pressed in the billet of aluminum alloy then is rm forged is when the piece is then spun and heated which then goes to a spinning process to determine the wheel width. IIRC, a spun cast wheel follows the same process that a die forged wheel goes through but it does not start as a forged billet, so its strength and weight is somewhere between a forged and cast wheel.

The problem is you have idiot wheel companies and thus vendors marketing a spun cast wheel as "spun forged" or "rotary forged" so there may be some confusion.
Everyone likes to throw the word "forged" around nowadays.

i have 17x9 weds tc105n +35 in the rear of mine. They poke a little but I think that would be rectified with a little camber change. Super strong. And 16.5lbs on my scale, which is pretty light.

Weds does NOT list these on their website, but RAVSPEC can get them for you if you don't mind terrible customer service and long wait times

Ouch - I must have missed that (or you didn't post about it). My experience with RavSpec was the complete opposite. They took care of me and had my wheels+tires+TPMS all set up for me to pick up in a decent amount of time (the holidays got in the way of making it faster, but that was to be expected).

forged ones allow more flexibility for the rim. it can actually pressurize (squeeze) a bit, taking the hit, and expand back to the normal form after the hit

cast cant do this and crack much much more easily

I recall watch the video where big press imitated the major curb hit to a wheel

forged one behaved like a ballon, returning to original form
cast ones cracked each time

and this one just to make you envy IF you'd stick with 8J's )

That depends completely on the rim.

Forged rims are heavier per volume, but can be made "thinner". You can't really go wrong with ANY high quality wheel, as long as you pick a wheel appropriate to your application.

I have a habit of dropping 2 wheels and hitting berms at full speed, and haven't bent the barrels of our cast wheels yet.

Which is the priority here: weight, price, or strength? You will NOT find all three at the same time.

Team Dynamics is a motorsport wheel; it is NOT lightweight. TD changed the design for strength after users complained they didn't stand up to street use too well. A good wheel, but not the lightest after the redesign.

TC105N. I have a set in 17x8. Very light; about as light as OEM STI 17x7.5 BBS wheels. They were expensive and only several hundred less than entry level set of forged wheels and/or more expensive than a used set. At this price per wheel, you could go $100/wheel more and get 3-piece wheels from SSR.

Volks. Expensive. Light. Not worth the entry price to the club IMO; at least not new. These are absolute BLING that are also functional.

I think you're looking for something like the new 17x9 Enkei RPF1. Lightweight, but strong enough for track duty where you don't necessarily care about getting them nicked and scratched. Unfortunately that size won't clear the Essex/AP brake kit. So here's where I also suggest the Mach V "Awesome" wheel. Not forged, not heavy, made specifically for the purpose of being an affordable and replaceable wheel for Subaru enthusiast/track applications.
