Clutch Suggestions
I am looking to replace my clutch to replace mine and prep for a turbo.
I was looking at: Fidanza QWIK-REV v1/v2 Exedy stage 2 and LW Flywheel ACT Stage 2 equiv and LWFW Clutch Master Stage 2 equiv (fx250?) Competition Clutch stage 2 (street series 2100) + LWFL Spec Clutch stage 2 and LWFL Or possibly the Centerforce Does anyone have recommendations? I looked for reviews but I'm not finding much and it usually a different car from 4 years ago. Quite a few posts mentioned rattle and noise. If I can help it I'd like the best clutch and quietest bang for buck (obviously right?). If rattle is part of it, then I can accept it. I just don't recall rattle on my last stage 2 on an 07 sti. Maybe I just didn't notice it? Any help is appreciated. Mind the signature ; P.

How much torque are you expecting to get after installing the turbo?

I don't see it going over 300. The one dyno I see it only hits around 210, so 230 or less is probably realistic with upgraded turbo and components. I read a lot of the clutches are underrated, but that's the internets...

Hi I'm looking for info on this too. What did you decide? @Strife26
There's no info on the FX250 here anywhere.

ACT SB8-XTSS with their lightweight flywheel (lighter of the two) I've had it a while now and I love it. Huge improvement over the stock clutch and flywheel.

I was reading lately the details of the STI RA-R in Japan and one of the important things is to keep the balance and smoothness of the rotating components. For example, the flywheel & clutch cover were selected to have a 50% reduction in tolerance on rotational balance. So, whatever clutch and flywheel you choose it is quite important to get balanced in a professional shop. This is even more important with a lightweight flywheel, since you'll have to compensate with less weight all the tolerances of the other rotational components ...

Ah I see. That tenth of a second would indeed totaly transform the car for a top notch driver that has exceended the abilities of the machine.
I will see myself out now.

I have done the light weight flywheel before on other cars. The slight ability to shift marginally quicker was very soon outweighed by the unconvince caused in daily driving. Great for a race car where split second shifts make a difference but not practical for a street car where idling is important.
