People that keep complaining about a lack of power this isn't a car for you.

I really enjoy this car. It reminds me of the days with my parents 84 Corolla SR5 as a teenager, think it had something like 70ish horsepower, tons of fun in the city.

There's nothing out there new that comes in this light, price level and rear wheel drive. There are other options if you look used like the S2000.

Has a hell of a lot of STi all over it for a non-STi... :o

Because STi makes accessories? So does AMG, M, TRD, etc. etc. Just because you add those parts doesn't make it a true model. Does a 335i with M performance package, which adds a whole bunch of M emblems, mean its an M3? Or a Mercedes C with AMG package = an AMG C63? Subaru never advertised the car as the actual "BRZ STI," it was tS (which yes, means tuned by STI, but again, its not a BRZ STI). Other cars that have had both tS and STi models are the impreza and forester, for example. So yes, the tS moniker designates what is essentially a performance pack, not a performance model.

A couple of us have a lot of the parts that already on that car. The aero kit and wheels alone adds like 10+ emblems, does that make my car or @switchlanez a BRZ STI? Nope. We just added the parts, we may refer to them as an STI build, but we would never say "oh yes I have a BRZ STI." It's like saying adding TRD parts means you have a TRD 86.

I'm fine with it being labeled tS. But the point is that it's labeled STi all over the place. Yeah they're STi parts etc but save that for the final build. Not the in between.

Tuned by STi...you want them to not label their parts? Not very smart business practice if you dont advertise your own stuf. Hence their labels on their stuff.

It would look so much better if the bodykit matched the color of the car.

Also, disappointed that the tS will only be available in WR Blue, Red, White, or Black. No DGM

The WRX STI got a power bump to around 300hp to emulate its WRC roots (where there was a 300hp limit) so that it lives up to its WRX name.

STI also tuned the BRZ to live up to its Boxer RWD Zenith name. "Zenith" comes from it taking advantage of the boxer engine's low CG. The engineers made that the crown jewel and built the entire chassis/suspension around that strength. It is "boxer" exemplified. Higher hp would be nice but, in terms of its original concept/intent, it's less relevant compared to handling improvements. I expect all the suspension/underbody bracing would make a significant change. But too many people on this thread seem to completely ignore that. Guess some people like being ignorant. If you expected STI's tuning to be more like the hp difference between WRX and WRX STI, then your expectations are flawed; WRC isn't the BRZ's main focus.

There was a picture floating around of someone who did color match his... It didn't look good.

Yeah, and you just nailed it on the head. The FT-86 was designed to be a handling first vehicle. The vast majority of people crying that the car needs more power are the ones looking for ego boosts, because seriously what do you need more power for unless you're regularly out on the track (and even then, improving your skills as a driver does way more to improve your times, just look at CSG Mikes recent video at 86fest where he took a stock FRS and kept pace easily with a Porsche 911 GT3). Most people who want more power usually just end up boasting about the hp number, can state that their car is faster than [insert name here] or a friend's car, want to say their car is "better", want to beat some car when the light turns green, etc. The car stock has plenty of passing power already, can get up to highway speeds no problem, more than enough for your daily commutes, more than capable for auto-x...so why does everyone NEED more power?
