My guess is 22k and the reason for that is that if you take a look at the 4 cars scion sells at the moment the 22k makes sense. I believe that anything above that would stick out too much.

rwd costs more than fwd to build, independent suspensions cost more than the other options out there. Not sure why people think they would get all these things for the same price as a base Malibu. |

you have to keep in mind that the fr-s base wont include a nav or some of the other fancy things the brz will. Just the navigation alone is a $2k upgrade and thats standard in all vehicles... to that add everything else and with the strip down version(fr-s base) you should atleast save a good $3k, which would bring the fr-s base down to $22k if the brz limited was to be priced at $25k. Thats my guess

The fr-s interior is not as nice as the brz.. its slightly different, but it definetly looks cheaper. |

Got a call from a scion dealership here in carson ca and was told the est price for the frs is 25-27k. thats too high for a scion. I think 22-23k would be fair price.

Superior Toyota/Subaru navigation systems costs more than ford's to build, independent bespoke system cost more than the other options out there. Not sure why people think they would get all these things for the same price as a base radio system. Back on topic, yeah, they can charge that much, but I'm more than reluctant to purchase said vehicle if the price is beyond what I perceive as a good buy. |

25k - 27k would mean 27k-30k for brz? way too high. Im willing to go up to 23k for the frs plus whatever TRD parts i decide to get.

I originally voted 20-23k but now I'm pretty sure it will start at 24k. Why? Because the Mazda Miata, which is a smaller and technically simpler car (inline-4 engine, no direct injection, no rear seats, 5-speed manual, etc), starts at about 24k. And the Genesis also starts at about the same. Not to mention, the dollar is getting weaker to the yen. So I say 24k for starters and up around 28k with options/luxuries.

Ugh. Good tactic, Toyota/Subaru, by letting interest build before dropping a price.
I'll be able to afford it, but I don't know if I want to spend $25k on a base FR-S or ~$30k on a loaded BRZ. I was hoping for a cheap "toy"... here's hoping my gut feeling is wrong. |
