Just got my automobile magazine last night, haven't had a chance to read it yet but here is the full page if people have a chance to go walmart and read the article ill try to take pics (sorry I dont have a scanner) and post it like last time. nothing we already don't know but its nice to see people agrees on what toyota is trying to make out of this chassis.

I'm a little skeptical of the Automobile magazine article on the FT-86. The first paragraph says:
"At the spavined Tokyo show last fall, Toyota unveiled its FT-86 concept, a curious closed sports car with a water-cooled, flat-four engine sitting ahead of the front axel but driving the rear wheels." Everything we've been told by toyota so far is that the engine would be placed as low and as far back in the engine bay as possible. This article is claiming the engine is in front of the axel like current imprezas. The only reason for this placement would be to accomodate the symetrical awd system in the subie variant. Unless Automobile magazine is privy to some new info that we haven't heard yet I'm calling BS on this article. |
