not quite 40 yet, but i remember everything about the 80s and the awesomeness and ridiculousness of it. lol
i remember when toyota launched Lexus and how much flack the LS400 got at the time for being a "cheaper copy" of the Benz S-class, and the ES250 being a rebadged Camry hahahah. before honda was the dominant car at the street races here in the 80s. when the "hachiroku" was new LOL. and when toyota eventually killed the rwd corolla coupes and made it fwd its crazy how much things have changed since then

I'm 55. God, 40 seems so young. My FR-S is my daily driver from mid April to Thanksgiving. When people see the car, they ask things like "does it have a lot of power, or is it fast?" And I say "not really, but it's a joy to drive". you don't sit in this car; you kind of wear it. The cockpit is that good.
Like my rigid mtn bike. It's not as fast overall as my hardtail, or my FS going downhill, but it's more fun and rewarding. Replaced the heavy stock wheels with forged Volk CE28N and Michelin PSS. Whiteline sway bars/links and TRD Exhaust.

38 here. Only mod so far is to replace the oil plug with a valve to make changing the oil easier. I've always modded cars but not sure if I'm going to do much with this one.

How's that for older? I'm 44 now. My FR-S is my DD and the mods are: OFT, Forgestar F14's, Pilot Sport AS/3's, Perrin tips, Alcantara speaker and dash panels, and clear side markers. Not going to do much more than that. I do have RCE Yellows in the garage that I'm either waiting to get LCA's and use them, or sell them off to someone. |

I'm 31, can I play?
Only mods I have are 17x9 Enkei RPF1 with 255/50-17 Toyo something or others. I also have WeatherTech floor mats I wasn't gonna mention but I see someone else did too. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do next. I have a couple other project cars that I acquired in my younger years and currently I cope with my lack of excess free time and burden of responsibility by mentally shutting down as soon as I get home from work. I should fix them. |

This is great thread. Loved reading all the responses! I feel for the young guys too! When you're young you have all the energy and time and drive... But not enough money (most cases). When you're older you have the cash but not always the time or the energy (most cases). Hahaha! Life's a b*tch, ain't it!
Life is too short not to have a nice car though! No matter what your age is.

I'm 66, bought this car for my son to take to college.....he's 2 years old. Guess he'll have to wait awhile to drive it. First 86, five axis spoiler, five axis 19" wheels, tires, I'll get a supercharger in a bit. I've amassed 300 miles in two years (sad I know).
