seems like I will wait until I absolutely have to get this done. So far my "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mantra has been beneficial during ownership of this car.

Any time the ECU gets reset, throttle sensitivity will be a bit "off" until the computer re-learns.

Whenever I've reflashed or disconnected the battery, I've noticed throttle response to be sort of "spongy" for the first 20-30 miles or so.

Perhaps that's what you're seeing?

Ah interesting, I did not know that. It felt like the throttle wasn't sensitive enough, like I was pressing down significantly more on the gas to get the RPMs up and I was having trouble shifting. After 4,000 miles with the car I had the muscle memory to do smooth shifts, when I picked up the car it was just not the same, even after it warmed up.

A lot of values get reset when the ECU loses power. Not sure how IAM works on this car, but that's likely a part of it.

Yeah, that's exactly how I've experienced it. Drive it around for a couple of days of normal driving (or just go out for a long drive), it'll be back to a quicker response. Like I mentioned, it usually takes around 20-30 miles for me. YMMV.

Just got the reprogramming done this morning for the recall. I've only driven it from the dealership to the office, about a quarter mile, and can definitely feel a significant lack of throttle response. It has the throttle response of a 1970s vintage classic. The 30 mile drive home should help the computer get back up to speed.

I got mine flashed last week. I don't know what they did, but the torque dip that has always been annoying seems much less so after the flash. car seems to rev better and pull harder through the entire RPM band. I know they say it wasn't supose to remap anything in the engine, but my foot seems to tell another story.

Had the reflash done this morning. Throttle was weird at first and I stalled once but after driving 25+ miles all seemed. I never experienced any real issues with my car from the beginning. A few idle dips here and there but never any stalling.

This car does take an unreasonable amount of time to reach operating temperature so I'm interested to see if that changes.

In comparison to all other vehicle I've owned/driven this car takes more time to warm up completely.

And it also takes an ungodly amount of time to cool down.
