As I have stated, I dont recommend it because my way is just the work around it.. Too much effort for making window roll up on lock to work. =_=;

Basically I got window roll up kit from ebay, get the wire to passenger side.
Detect +ve from motor on both sides, etc all according to instructions.

Then whenever window rolls up, I used relay and rectifier diode to send +ve to ACC.
This step is necessary and is really important.

And added switch to toggle the function, so I can option to lock window with window open.

One more relay is used to control window-roll-up only works when the car is off.
Else window would roll up when lock button is pressed while driving.

I could only find cheap kits when I did this early last year. Maybe there are better kits available now.

As complicated as that sounds, it's progress, which (hopefully) means there's a good chance this project is entirely possible.

Yes progress! Any kind is good. I look forward to the day I can remotely roll the windows down before getting into the car to vent all the hot air out. Summers are brutal here in Texas, so please make this happen.

Couple questions:

1. Did you tap the up/down relay into the window switches on the driver's door?

2. What would be the effect if someone were to use an interior switch at the same time but in the opposite direction that the remote windows are going?

The AutoWindow Classic Universal Fit has all the inputs, logic, processing, and output controls needed for this to work. It lacks the output interface with car windows. In other cars, but not the twins, we use DEI530T module as the output interface to the car windows.

The DEI530T provides four things in the solution.
1. it supplies power to windows when the car is off
2. it has two input lines for window control, a line for up, a line for down
3. it manages conflict resolution of interior switch use while lines are being controlled
4. it has pinch protection / end of travel / stall protection

Sadly the DEI530T was determined to be not compatible with the twins window motor/controller combo.

If you're curious, most VW group cars have this interface built-into the car so no DEI530T add-on is needed. The car has two lines, one for up, one for down, that AutoWindow ties into directly. It manages power while off, it has pinch protection, and it resolves conflict of interior button use.

So, if you can find, build, or make a window interface that provides those 4 things that DEI530T performs, then AutoWindow is a drop in component for a remote control window solution. And all the features and options of AutoWindow, heat venting, rain sensor, night sensor, etc... would also all be available.

Pretty sure, it would be very hard to get this to be truly plug and play. There would be panels coming off and wire cuts or tapping going on.

Want to know the sad thing? All this capability is sitting at the fingertips of the on-board computer that is already in the car. And just a stretch guess, the software for doing remote window control might be sitting in there, but is simply not enabled. Probably the same or very similar software that is installed in all Toyota, Lexus, and this Subaru. On Lexus, the feature might be enabled. I don't have the tools to hack car controllers, but they're out there. Hacking the computer via OBD port, CANBUS is probably the best bet at plug and play.

I heard claims that some FRS models have the ability to control Windows via factory fob. Haven't gotten any proof though. Sat shown with Toyota tech and saw that the options in Techstream were greyed out.
