OEM Brake differences between different models

Just putting some info out there, as when I looked I couldn't find any.

In NZ, Japan, Australia, there were base models offered, these had smaller wheels, and also smaller brakes.

The differences are....

The front caliper and pads are the same between the models. However, the discs are different, the base has smaller discs. Also, because of the smaller disc, the caliper bracket is different.

The rear brakes on the base are entirely different. Different disc, caliper and pad.

So, if you have a base model, and are looking for new pads, you can get the same pads for the front as the higher spec model, but you will need base 86 specific rear pads. The TRD part number for these base 86 specific rear pads is MS226-18002

The rears on the lower spec cars also runs a solid disc instead of the vented discs that everyone else gets.

Rear pads on base are WRX aren't they? IIRC specs were the same, I never bothered to verify 100% though since all were high spec brakes on this side of the pond.

Yup, all USDM cars get the same brakes which are the up-model brakes from the overseas cars. The fronts are from the current WRX, and the rears are from the current Legacy GT/3.6R.

Close, IIRC the low spec solid discs are from the base impreza, not WRX. I also believe the low spec fronts are impreza parts too.
