I currently also have my SRT4 which when I bought it was stock and put 243whp and 260wtq and I was like no this is enough power in a 2800 lb car but that was very short lived. I pulled the trigger on a twin (brz) which I snagged for 21k otd 18k miles 6mt and fully loaded limited. I must say I'm not disappointed at all. My srt ran 12.8 on street tires and from a roll can beat stock 2015 v8s (chally, Camaro, mustang) yet I still love my twin just as much. There two different animals. After being in my brz for almost 2 months now I would not trade it in for any of the new muscles cars save maybe a Hellcat.

Had a GT and got this. I do miss the top end power. When someone was riding my ass I just punched and go and the stang woul be sitting on a buck and a quarter in a few seconds. I had to do suspension mods to keep it stuck. It had a lot of problems as it got older and it was expensive to drive daily 26 miles one way. That car was fun this car is too only in a different way. This car just needs a but more top end

I like the new Mustangs, I say do it if you want straight line performance. I S/C'ed my BRZ and still wasn't all that impressed with 260WHP/195WTQ, and ended up selling it and taking a huge hit. Got myself a cheap S2000 for fun and leased a ATS Turbo for the commute/straight line speed/comfort/space/AWD through my job for less then $200 a month...

Ahh I see. Its really the tq that gives you that fast feeling and that is what I have the biggest issue with. I wanted to SC but then I know I would be missing the tq of a turbo but then you will get into some reliability issues so you might as well trade it in for a car that comes stock with a turbo but then I will take a hit financially.

Really? That's hard to believe, since I've raced S2000's on e85 NA and its a wash. Which does make sense because both cars are around 200 whp.

I can see it - something like a low boost pulley vortech, carb tune, running piss gas, would probably make peak rwhp on a dynojet around 225, but that's at the upper end. E85 increases power throughout the power band. Although, take that same centrifugal supercharger, run a slightly smaller pulley, 93 octane, headers, and an optimized tune, and you'll be WAY faster than a stock S2000. All depends on how it's set up.

My friend just got a 14 GT. While i know the 14 and 15 are pretty much different cars i just want to focus on straight line performance. The mustang is a heavy car, and while the 5.0 is a beast of an engine, i still found it somewhat underwhelming.
i would much rather stick with an 86 that had headers and a tune than jump ship to a GT. Its just so damn heavy. Now the ecoboost i would have to consider. After tunes it can push 400 tq....that would be wild in 3500 lbs

It's ridiculously easy to drop weight off the GT. I've dropped 98lb off the car with a catback (everything except headers on the gt) and lightweight wheels. Stock exhaust is ~75 pounds while most Catbacks come in around 30-40, and the stock wheels (on the performance pack) are 34lb each, and Forgestar CF5V's are about 20lb each corner in the same size. That's just over 3600lb there. Still heavy, but only about 100lb more so than a 350z. You can drop more weight, but it gets more expensive after that with driveshafts, 2 piece rotors (about 25lb saved all together) , all rotating mass savings. They're definitely different beasts. I enjoyed my e85 full bolt on brz just as much as my gt in different ways. I don't feel like I really downgraded in handling much honestly, and I love the bolt on 5.0 power and sound. You can't go wrong with most modern cars really, all about what you want out of them
