Jacksonville, FL: Shops

I was looking through the threads and I didn't see one about shops in the Jacksonville area. I am looking for a place that would be able to install retrofit HIDs since I'm not too confident about opening the head light housing myself. I currently live in the Saint Augustine area and if there aren't any good places in the Jax area I am open to driving down to Orlando.

Thanks

Autotechniques in Orange Park I believe they can. Call first and ask for Christian. He is the owner of the shop. Their number if not change is (904) 502-0838. Mention Walter suggested the shop for the work.

I called and spoke with Christian. He seems like a cool guy and I will be meeting up with him on Friday to get an estimate. I will let him know you sent me. Thanks again!

Good to hear. Christian is a good guy and he will try to help any car enthusiast out. If he does not know what a customer may need, he will know others in the area that do.

Thanks for the article, I will be sure to take this into account before I go through with it. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Retrofit kits supposed to fix this issue? I thought driver glare was due to the cheap plug and play kits.

Yes. It does eliminate the problem. Retrofit is the best solution if you can not by the JDM HID lights.

The glare comes from the impropper placement of the filament. Headlights are designed to produce a specific light pattern based on the filament location. Most of the HID kits have a bulb that is 2 inches long which changes the arc location thus changing the beam pattern.
