Replace the engine and go full-blown FI, 450whp minimum. Otherwise, just throw the car away cause you won't be able to enjoy it.

Did you look closely at the dyno chart?

There is to TRD airbox for the 17. What's your point other than the penis?

You sir, have failed at my punishment.

P.S. Must resist urge to adopt new signature quote "What's your point other than the penis?"

I got the point, it just wasn't funny. I thought I'd save OP some time and money looking for a 17 TRD airbox.

Found myself at a light behind a white 86/860 edition yesterday, it looked a lot better in person than I had expected...

...except for the skinny tires. Those look weird after I've been well used to my TRD wheel package and wider tires.

First unmodified 86 I've seen in quite some time.

Funny... the Toyota USA "build your car" web site lists it as an add on option for both auto and manual configurations and I can find several people who have claimed to have it installed on a 2017 with no problems whatsoever.

Here is the official 2017 accessory catalog that lists it:
https://www.toyota.com/content/ebroc..._ebrochure.pdf

All penis jokes aside: what makes you think it won't work? Heck, if it is an automatic it is the exact same engine as 2013-2016...

If we want to take this new guy at face value then there is only one solution for him since his location is "California"... the only CARB certified intake is the TRD. It won't get him anywhere near 300HP. There are no CARB certified headers. He already has the TRD exhaust (which only adds noise anyway - but I happen to have one and like it).

The one and only way I know to get 300HP and be street legal in California is forced induction via JRSC or Edelbrock - both of which have passed CARB testing.

P.S. I think you are wrong about the joke not being funny too!

I don't doubt the TRD airbox will fit a 17 AT/MT, but why would you put one in a manual? In a 17 MT, it might be a step backwards over stock.

I got a pretty good chuckle out of that dyno-graph. It was just subtle enough I had to read a comment or two before it dawned on me!

For a MY17 manual, could you just put the TRD air filter in without the TRD box? I think you can do that on the older models, but I'm not sure if the revised MY17 manual intake has the same filter size.

Or would a K&N filter be cheaper and just as good?
