Sorry about the slow response, been a bit busy.

I replaced the Aeroquip hoses with Vibrant hoses that were done by a friend. He's got a bunch of extras, if anyone wants a set made let me know.

Temperatures looked pretty good. They held steady and the oil temps were way lower than before. Ironically looking at some old logs these are almost the same as sitting on the highway with cruise control on. I may not be a track star but I'm sure it's getting a bit more of a workout.

Really happy Zach got it all taken care of for you! I was following up with him to see how your e-tuning was going, and mentioned to him that you weren't too far from them, and custom tuning could happen. Sounds like it was the best choice!

For those that may still be on the fence between the Harrop and Edelbrock kits - one so far unmentioned advantage to the Harrop is that it can be installed without taking the bumper cover off.

I did spend the last few weeks working with Zach at Delicious Tuning to finalize the tune. We went through about 7 revisions on the tune (2017 BRZ manual trans). Zach was dealing with a tip-in knock issue and a hot stalling issue. It did drive very well outside of those two issues. I ended up taking the car to Delicious (about 80 miles away) for him to look at in person. After about an hour Zach had both issues killed and the car runs as well as it ever did from Subaru. Strong as hell, broad torque curve, easily controllable both from a stop and at speed.

Then we filled up on E85.......No idea why folks want more for a street car. I must be getting old. This is a completely STOCK - down to the exhaust - 2017 BRZ with ONLY the Harrop kit, Delicious flex fuel kit and Delicious/Ecutek tune as mods. It is now the definition of "Point and shoot". It can overload the traction control at will. I will need to learn to drive it again before attempting Track mode outside of a controlled environment.

Props to Subaru, Harrop and Delicious. For less than $40K it's nothing short of a Cayman with a basic interior. Which was kinda the goal.

What’s the hose that is going under the air box and next to your belt?

Notice your belt kinda looks wider than your pulley. Maybe it's just the angle

Top picture is the belt after removal.

A rib of the belt esploded and then the belt started walking off the pulley. That's what you're seeing, it mid-stride.

I don't even have 3000 miles on my setup. Just over 4000 miles on the car itself.

How much power? How’s the tensioner? Were you driving hard at the time?

ALso, I’m pretty sure the kit is defective. You should probably sell it to me.

Car is making ~120hp over stock.

Car has 4000 miles, how do you think the tensioner is?

It happened on startup.

Car had just been driven a couple miles and parked, not even warmed up - was running fine with no weird sounds. Started back up and WAP WAP WAP.

Yup, kit is totalled. I'll sell it to you for the low low price of $10k.

I found this old thing:

I feel like alignment and tension are the two biggest possibilities for belt failure. I doubt the belt material failed, but that could be.

I'd guess the belt got nicked somewhere during shipping or the install.

That is a different type of belt. Tooth vs Rib.
