info from UAE Dealer

i received this msg in Arabic but i will translate it.

Toyota announced that they will launch their new car FT-86, and the car will be exported to Toyota dealers in the middle east in 2012.

And the CEO in Al Futtaim (Toyota Dealer in UAE) said that the car price might exceed 200,000 Riyals (around 50,000 USD) !!!!! and the car will be availible in our show rooms earlier 2012!!

BTW the 370z in UAE around 47000USD

really shocked from the price!

Remember, you can't just convert to US dollars. It doesn't work that way...

UAE markup. they pay their citizens 30 annually for just being a citizen. Tons of super cars all over the place (makes Miami look like Compton) and one of the richest cities in the world. I was stations there for over a year. UAE prices mean nothing to the rest of the world.

I already have plan b (which is buying a 2012 mx5) as it already cost you 88,000 riyals in ksa brand new ^_^
88,000 riyals = $24k usd

I will not buy the ft86/brz if it gose above 120,000 riayls ( $32k usd )

That dealer is a big scammer, there is nothing called MSRP in that region, the dealers can just set the prices as they want.

well, in Dubai citizens have money!! but in Bahrain (where i am from) we dont have money!!

and our dealers sell cars same as Dubai dealers!!

anyways all my cars are imported from the US, my Ex-350z my M35 my Tribute!!

so, its doesn't matter to me!

if the price of the FT-86 exceed 10,000 BD i will buy a used 2009 370Z from the US. which will cost me to Bahrain 9000 BD.
