Yup it's powdercoated. Paraphrased from Jarrett at Raceseng: Anodizing can only be done on aluminium not steel, and the machining cost of a one off aluminium core would be far too much.

That and a lot of options with powdercoating in terms of colours, translucence, etc. You guys will have to shoot him an email if you want one done.

I'm thinking about doing my interior in carbon wrap an matching it to my WRB blue in a few spots. Anyone have any pics similar to that?

its not vinyl. its hydro graphics transfer ( i just call it hydro dipping) youre gonna need a shop to do it tho since its not really a diy process. I had mine done by Colorado Custom Looks . i picked this over vinyl because vinyl has a tendancy to wrinkle on the awkward corners and curves (such as the door handles and radio bezel)

I figured I would put up some pictures of my interior as it is now since it is about to undergo a few big changes. I'm sure I will take some flack about those choices but we'll get to that when I'm done and put up some new pictures.

I painted the pillars surrounding the A/C controls, the vents, shifter surround, and the piece in the steering wheel a flat black. After buffing and wiping down with detailer it turned a nice textured satin. I would say the finish turned out better than the black pieces from Japanparts that are really just unpainted molded plastic.

The armrest I actually put together myself with mostly random stuff I had in the garage.

The shift knob is a Tiger Blue Anarchy Motive. Love the feel and although it is lighter than the blue leather it matches the blue stitching almost perfectly.

The start screen will have to be changed now that winter is on its way out and there are blossoms on the trees here in the Southeast.

looks good, shift knob looks a little out of place, just because its a completely different blue than the rest of the interior though

Yeah it is. I am not sure why but Subaru put two different blues in the interior (and a third if you count the WRB exterior). The knob actually matches the stitching used but not the dominate darker leather and alcantara.
