DUDE!

It was a movie, not a manual!

Glad you ended up in few enough pieces to be sewn back together again.

Be careful out there when you get another 86. Get back on the road, and don't die again.

@FNCrazy I'm shaken by your story and truly glad that you survived, even though it's obvious that you still have a lot of healing to do. You're very lucky and I hope you'll keep us posted on your recovery!

Man, I wondered where you went! We were always going back and forth about stuff in the Oregon section. Glad you made it out with your life! Momma always said, nothing good happens after 2am!

Thanks for the kind replies...

Pics without blood or similar gore.

With a little squinting you can see what an FR-S convertible might look like.

Seriously though. If you're tired, pull over. If it can happen to me it can happen to anyone.

Luckily I didn't have anyone in my backseat, because that doesn't exist anymore. Passenger seat took a lot of damage too, I wouldn't have wanted someone there either. Okay, well, the driver didn't fare too well, so maybe just grab coffee and wake up next time.

5'10" resulted in a broken skull and two vertebrae in my neck. I wouldn't have wanted to be much taller!

This could've been caused by your injuries and/or drugs you were under. I've seen patients that were belligerent for weeks while under some serious meds for various things and then be perfectly pleasant after they were off of it. If it were bad enough, restraints were generally used since yanking out catheters, iv's, and breathing tubes can cause a lot of extra pain and suffering. I'm sure the staff didn't take it personally, but being extra nice afterwards never hurts...haha.

Holy fuck, I wondered what happened to you since Packwood..

I feel really guilty now for pushing you to go since you were on the fence about it

Really do wish you a speedy recovery.

So, I found out what a real car accident is like...

Went to Packwood autocross last summer, which is like 6 hours and change from me.

First autocross, was a blast, but things went downhill from there. Had planned to drive to PDX which is two hours from home and stay with a friend. Little too much energy and at 2am I decided I might as well drive the rest of the way home.

That's all I remember (some of that even vaguely).

Evidently I made it about 75 miles before I fell asleep on I-5 and ran into the back of a log truck at a decent MPH difference. Not sure exactly what happened, but it started with me hitting the truck, and ended with a caved in roof and my car in a farmer's field beside the freeway.

Broke my skull, two neck vertebrae, facial bones, almost my entire hand, and a few odds and ends. Dislocated my shoulder in two places, and did significant nerve damage to my entire arm, which still hasn't healed. Got a hernia that grew huge before they found it. I still have an open 8" wound because they want it to heal from the inside out. Very annoying.

I had to learn to speak again, and I have only a few fleeting memories from between that night in August and the end of December. My memory won't come back, but at least I've gotten better at retaining new memories.

Anyway, so that's why I've been gone. I'd post some pics of the car post-wreck, but some people might not want to see a FR-S that way! So, Packwood pics I never posted!

Post-wreck pics below
holy shit dude, i was wondering what happened to you. glad you are recovering now, and so sorry to hear what happened to you, considering what happened on course that day.
