Buyer Beware: Motor Mounts

I just finished attempting to install some motor mounts that I purchased @ THMotorsports:

http://thmotorsports.com/i-541365.aspx

As you can see, these are advertised as 'Perrin Motor Mounts' (I don't even know if Perrin makes these things, maybe @PERRIN_Jeff can chime-in) and have the BRZ & FR-S as the application vehicles. I see these motor mounts being advertised for our vehicles on other websites, too, so it isn't just THM's fault.

These motor mounts do not fit our cars.

The stock motor mounts have a solid cubic piece of metal on the bracket that acts as a standoff where it attaches to the motor. The Group-N-style STi motor mounts I received (the same in the picture on THM's website) do not have this cubic standoff. In short, the bracket cannot sit flush against the motor without this extra chunk of metal.

I am a wee bit disappointed because, if you've ever installed motor mounts on jack stands, the install procedure ain't exactly a cake walk (remove both shields, jack the motor up, etc etc).

So, just because it says it fits doesn't mean it's so.

Pretty much why they are not listed on our site, or Perrins for that matter.

Sorry you found out the knuckle busting way.

Good looking out!

I am getting mine direct from Perrin this week, they may have a prototype look to them, not sure yet, but they do plan to bring a kit to market if I didnt know better, perhaps its better that they confirm their plans, but afaik, I wasnt told to NOT share this, so when the box arrives y'all be the 1st to know

They're precisely EJ motor mounts.

Looks like the product code is already on their site but, just looking at the pictures, these appear to be EJ-style motor mounts. So, don't go ordering them just yet until Perrin confirms they're truly for the FA motor.
