Turbo doesn't act like a resonator.

It quiets an exhaust down the same way this does:

see the similarity?

The principles are the same. Sound waves cannot just exit out freely from the exhaust ports. They hit something in the exhaust path. Whether it be a butterfly valve or a turbo turbine blade wheel.. same principle. The material absorbs the some of the sound energy and bounces it back even.

I believe they were the no.3 car with the 43 second time. Will check on that. The seats are black - that interior camera does weird things with color. Exposed to too many exotic fumes I guess..

So that camera makes the seats purple, your other camera makes your FRS a very strange color orange.... I think you guys are messing with things.

I don't think I can trust all the dyno graphs that have been posted since I can't even trust their videography skills.

Track testing update:

Ross at AVO Turboworld Japan just completed a full day of track testing at Tsukuba Circuit. And when we say full day, it was a full day, 20 minute sessions on the hour, every hour from morning till evening. All in all, the AVO BRZ did around 80 laps over the course of the day.

With Ross driving, times were very consistent, around the 1m05sec mark for the entire day. This is about a 3.5 second improvement from the BRZ back when it was N/A, but with the suspension and tires. Ambient temperatures were at the 25° C mark, with the actual track surface temperatures at 35° C mark.

The car was logged the entire time so we could track water and oil temps, along with a lot of other data we were keeping an eye on. Over the course of the day, the max water temperature we hit was 106° C, which dropped to 98°C when the heater turned on. Oil temperatures hit 140°C at max, which dropped to 135°C when the heater went on. In direct comparison, another BRZ being driven at the same time that was N/A and running a large oil cooler was hitting 117° C oil temperatures.

Needless to say, it was a fairly comprehensive thrashing of the car at the track. Yet at no time did the car overheat. One reason for that is that the oem radiator cap is 1.1-bar unit.

Ross’s advice towards anybody considering these levels of track duty may certainly want to invest in an oil cooler, it would help. Things to look at is maximizing air flow through the car, and possibly invest in a more efficient radiator.

They also did a fairly comprehensive test of the track breather system, and it worked brilliantly. Part of that setup was a new PCV valve designed for turbocharged application. A problem with the standard PCV is that it was never designed for positive intake manifold pressure, and will leak under boost. We will be posting some videos of testing of the PCV soon.

A couple of pics from the previous track day a week earlier at Honjou Circuit

Some on needs to put a full turboback/injectors/pump and see what this thing can do on 93 and e85.

Still the most oem looking kit and that sound >_>

I am planning on doing that here as soon as possible, and have it run on the Drift Office dyno again so we have clear back to back data.

Will it fit ?

As spoken with Paul from @AVOturboworld , Ross is testing some fuel pump options at the moment, so I' ll be very grateful if AVO could add the appropriate and relable pump in the package, which is about to leave my way...(hopefully)

I've chosen Deatschwerks 700cc inhectors, but heard many weird things reg their DW65 pump, which seems to have a mind of its own ... so I'm seeking options
