Limited Scion Monogram Series Brings Premium Features to FR-S and tC

TORRANCE, Calif., (Jan. 9, 2014)
– Exceptional features will now come at even more exceptional prices. The 2014 Scion FR-S and tC gain premium features with the competitively priced, limited edition Monogram Series™ models on display for the first time at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Monogram Series vehicles will be available in dealerships starting in February.

"Through this limited edition Monogram Series, Scion brought together extra comforts and conveniences in the FR-S and tC without sacrificing value," said Scion Vice President Doug Murtha. "By incorporating these features as standard for a limited time, we provide a great price to go head-to-head with the competition and encourage more drivers to get excited about experiencing a Scion."

High-end features like Alcantara® inserts in the FR-S and navigation technology in both the FR-S and tC set the Monogram Series apart. Vehicles will be available in all standard body colors and both transmission options. Just 2,000 of these limited FR-S models and 2,500 tC models will be available this year.

All Scion models are covered by a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. The Monogram Series vehicles also come standard with Scion Service Boost, a complimentary plan covering normal factory-scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, and two years of 24-hour roadside assistance.

Scion MSRPs do not include a $755 delivery, processing and handling (DPH) for all Scion models. The DPH fee for vehicles distributed by Southeast Toyota (SET) and Gulf States Toyota (GST) may vary. No security system unless the Smart Key covers that?

i think mine was 220 for the 2013. toyota/scion has also since decreased the college grad discount down to 500 from 1000 (which i got as well).

this is another round of limited production cars. so this means for regular FRS owners, they still can't purchase the HID and other parts without showing proof of ownership? cuz when i bought the 10 series, i was told that only 10 series owners can purchase replacement parts from scion.

So, can we coerce a 10 series owner to buy something for you? LOL

Really? Rear seat center arm rest?! Did not realize anyone outside of Asia actually used the back seat for passengers.

Scion Adds Luxury To FR-S With Monogram Series

Quote:
Scion is looking to inject a bit of luxury into its lineup. Not a ton, mind you, but enough to entice a few buyers to step up and snag one of two limited-edition models the automaker is going to offer. It's called the Monogram Series, and it will be available on the Scion FR-S and the tC.

We said it's going to be a limited run and we mean it, as Scion will produce just 2,000 FR-S and 2,500 tC examples in this new series.

So should you scoop one up? Let's see what you're getting.

The FR-S receives leather seats with Alcantara inserts (the front units are also heated), dual-zone climate control, and push-button start. Additional features include the BeSpoke premium audio system with navigation, a frameless rearview mirror, and heated outside mirrors.

Speaking of the outside, the FR-S Monogram Series boasts HID headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and it can be painted in any color that Scion currently offers for the coupe. It won't hurt your wallet either, with an MSRP of $27,400 for the manual and $28,500 for the automatic gearbox. That's not far off the well-equipped price of the FR-S anyway, so why not opt for some luxe options and a limited-edition vehicle.

The tC version gets some of the same options as the FR-S, including the Alcantara inserts, heated front seats, and premium audio. It is priced to move at $21,400 and $22,400 for the manual and automatic versions, respectively.
