I might have a dilemma...

so after playing around a little bit on Toyota's website, NADA, and KBB, it seems that i could trade my truck off and get into a new Tundra Rock Warrior edition for roughly the same out-of-pocket as if i were to keep my truck and just purchase an FT86 outright.

i do quite like my current truck, but that 5.7L V8 in the new tundra makes me wet, and the interior is HUGE (CrewMax body). even without getting the rock warrior edition, i'd still probably spring for the TRD Off Road package. the main thing i would dislike is the "auto LSD" BS they put on there. i'd rather have a locker, but since they don't put lockers on the tundras, a mechanical LSD would be my choice. that truck would not go very far off road if i were paying that much for it, lol.

i think there's actually roughly a 3-5% chance i would actually trade my truck and get the tundra instead of the FT86, but it's still an interesting idea because those tundras are AMAZING.

I can't sympathize with you nor give you words of wisdom because I could never even fathom myself debating buying a truck over a sports car.

Trucks are work-horses. Does your truck get the job done? If the answer is yes, then why buy another one?

I'm in the same situation.... except instead of a tundra it would be an Evo X, or an '11 5.0 Mustang GT

the reason for this is largely the interior room of the tundra over my current tacoma and the fact that i already have a sports car. the tundra also has a few key features that i would love on my truck such as heated outside mirrors, and 400ft.lbs of torque, lol.

seriously though, it's just something i'm very lightly kicking around in my head. i think i would really rather have the FT as a DD, my Tacoma as the bad weather and utility vehicle, and my MR2 to play with.

tundra TSS? can you elaborate on why the rock warrior was unpleasant? suspension too stiff? i appreciate the input!

and like i said, there's very nearly zero percent chance of me actually doing this, but it's still a fun idea, haha.

Not to stiff, seemed there was a fare amount of travel in the rear shocks. Made the ride really bumpy (if you have ever been in a car with bad shocks, thats what it felt like to me). I couldn't imagine traveling daily in that.

The TSS is just a pretty package.

(sorry about the late response I am TDY)
