We can always push it out a month or two. No hurry.

After a visit with the surgeon's PA-C (Physician's Assistant - Certified), he prescribed some oral steroid pills. Those, along with time after surgery, I can now go for hours pain free. They have this cute sounding girl that calls about once every other day to see how I'm doing and if there is anything I need - like a walker, chair for the shower, cane, pick up things type of stick, extended shoe horn, stuff like that. I'm about mobile enough to go out and see if my FR-S will start, after 10 days of just sitting. Soon I will be able to take off my socks - all by myself - humfrz |

Works for me! Keep me posted if the date changes, I don't have anything going on for that weekend and foreseeable future.
In other news, the stock brakes in these cars... are they made of magic materials? 56k miles consisting of 3 track days, 1.5 years of autox, weekend drives, a majestic 5500 mile roadtrip, and DD barely worn them down. I do engine brake but not sure how much that helps with pad life. Reckon I can get another 50k-75k miles out of these! Can't return the new ones, unfortunately Now I do wonder what was causing the squeaking noise whenever I applied brakes... |

So, your brakes were squeaking so you replaced the pads? Well, that's OK, at least you got rid of the squeaking and you have a fresh set of brake pads - What caused the old ones to squeak when they had plenty of pad left? That could have been one or more of many things. * the pads were glazed over * a rock (or something) was trapped between the rotor and the pad * they were wet * it was your imagination - * other things Happy braking! humfrz |

Even soft compounds can get squeaky if they start tracking a bit askew. New pucks will push back the pots in your caliper. They are happiest when fully retracted. If you have been judiciously topping off your brake reservoir, be careful about squeezing the pots. The fluid has to go somewhere.

How are dimensions compared to the short blocks they ship? Or are those DIY slots? I can barely squeeze the shorties, pretty much guaranteed no way I could fit these. Which is a bummer, because I'd rather. C

Dang. I could barely slide the short ones in. Which barely keep the car off the steel. If they do... It's like I need to jack the car up to get it on the jacks... blargh.
