Oil Change Questions

1. What is the part number for the subaru filter and crush washer?

2. What oil change quick valve is compatible with the oil pan?

3. Where can I get a hose that will fit the valve?

#2 is QuickOilDrainValve.com you want the 16mm one.

#3 is any auto parts store. Just show up with the valve and get a foot or two of transmission oil cooler hose or fuel hose that will fit. You can get heater hose, but it may deteriorate over time.

I ordered the F-105 from qwikvalve.com. I'm installing tomorrow. I'll do a DIY on how it works, install (unscrew, screw...duh).

Per this Post, it won't work. This is coming from Subaru part number for the drain plug.

You need to get F-108, which is 16mm. F-105 is 20mm.

My guy at the Scion dealer told me they won't change it until 7500 miles in the fr-s and also that we only get 2 services no matter what!

I'm a little curious as to how this is going to turn out.

7500 mile oil change intervals would make for 3 oil changes.

My dealer wouldn't do it early, but, I get mine at 5k and get 5 changes. Time for you to find a new dealer.

For verification, the F-105 does not work. The company I purchased the valve from suggested the wrong part after I let them know I had a BRZ. Well, return time.

Oil change was easy, about 30m. My oil filter was on -really- tight though so I had to punch a small screwdriver into it to get it to turn as my strap wrench wouldn't fit in the space where the oil filter sits. Hopefully my new Subaru filter which I tightened will come of easier next time around.

Subaru suggests 3000m for the First oil change btw.

I changed my oil at 1010 miles. The filter was on tight. I Hastings usemy strap wrench to get it off.
The oil drains really quickly. It overwhelmed my catch pan.
The crush washer was not coming off the drain plug. I would of had to gouge the plug to remove the washer.

Yea...I'm definitely gonna have to check into things.

And are you guys gonna change the washer every oil change?
