Hello Fellow Scion Drivers
Syke everyone hates Scions I know I do. But god damn do I love my car, 2013 Raven FRS. Little back story about me.
Born a gearhead, my father has had his slew of (American) cars, and truthfully I love all cars besides Scions and Hondas (NSX/S2K doesn't count). Grew up restoring/wrenching on my old mans 1967 Mustang with him. It was my first true love. It's over the course of 20 years taken shape from the wimpy Acapulco Gold 289 turd it was born as, to this Acapulco Blue 521 Stroker Monster it is today. We're not a rich family by any means but we keep our commodities low and save up for the terrible, money wasting hobby of cars. Now more about me, I grew up loving Muscle cars and Muscle cars only. But around 6th grade I was introduced to a forum known as pixelcars.com. Which for the most part is littered with Euro/JDM fanboys, which I became. Though video games and pixelcars my passion for JDM cars grew and I always dreamed of owning an AE86 or a 180sx. So as time would tell at the tender age of 16 I got my drivers license. What do you know, armed with $1200 cash I come across this beaut. Which ended up becoming this. Armed with Powered by Max coilovers, and an ebay turbo kit. This little KA24 S13 was a blast. But I Yearned for an SR20 and I ended up trading her for this little gem. Did some cleaning up of the body and resprayed it flat black, threw another set of PBM coils on it. I LOVED this car, I learned how to drift in this monster. But she became a headcase constant breaking down and just throwing money into it meant I had to let her go, I just couldn't afford to keep it. So traded it (running like shit) for this... thing haha.. Stock KA24DE it was just Blah to me ended up selling it for cash and got out of the 240 game... Ended up making serious money and was able to get my first loan. This came along. This had been my daily for quite some time. Fully bolted PERM tuned she was an absolute monster 13.39 1/4 mile 290WHP/371WTQ. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDoaKJxMQ9A"]Perm tuned Mazdaspeed 3 Dyno - YouTube[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKyoG351byk"]Mazdaspeed 3 13.39 - YouTube[/ame] But the FWD just started to annoy me, I really tried to find another SR20DET 240sx locally but finally with no luck starting thinking about the ole FRS. I had followed our platform since it's birth as the FT86. I LOVED the way it looked. So as fate would have it i test drove one and the next day I parted my MS3 out and here we stand. Absolutely love it. Had the car 3 days and drove it 1,000 miles to Ocean City Maryland and back. Super comfy and slides like butter. I'm sitting at 1,600 miles and the mod bug already hit. I had ISIS Performace HR pro coilovers in route, as well as XXR 530 18x8.75 +20 wheels, and some damn Toyota GT86 badges! I'm going to get the suspension all figured out before I touch the engine. Hopefully Vortech down the road? Thanks for reading! |

My thoughts as I scrolled down this thread:
"The gentleman clearly has taste in cars" "A stock 180sx? No one has an unmolested 180sx anymore! This man is a champion" "Oh well, he dropped it, you can fix that at least" "Wait..." "No, you idiot!" "Eww" "Alright, his taste came back" "Good choice, good choice." |

Thanks for the welcome fellas. I plan on pushing this car as much as anyone here. I hope to get it dialed in for some road racing as soon as I get these shitty tires off of here. I'll be at Nelsons Ledges here in Ohio, maybe some mid-ohio as well.

I am, Prediluted is the name over there.
I too came from an MS3, I would have loved to have kept both cars, but getting married so it was not in the cards. Mine was only lightly modded, SSP, RMM, Intake (All JBR). I was just about to get a Cobb AP when I traded for the FRS. I do miss the torque, but I come from a background of American muscle, RWD, so the FRS better suited my driving wants. The MS3 is a monster though, was my favorite car I owned next to the FRS. |
