I was trying to hold off and do everything when my intercooler arrived but they are still backordered for another month. Glad I did it now because my gear oil was fairly low and plastic fittings were really loose. I also replaced my #1 coil pack which was really easy to do.

Good call on changing out the hardware, i'm actually doing the same and reinstalling everything. if all goes well i should be back on the road tonight! Going to get started on it again here in a couple hours.

Here's how she looked when we decided to call it a night last night.

If so, whats the big deal? replace it.

You could find a flaw in almost every kit out there, between melted fans, improper fitment, bumpers not going back on correctly, etc. I honestly feel this is the one of the most solid solutions out there, and i'm not just saying that being an owner of one.

When it comes down to it, you have to be prepared for things like this when putting forced induction onto an NA motor. In the grand scheme of things, even the other issues other kits have, its not even a big deal.
We have had 1 NA out of 1500 odd 86 in the last 2 years reported.

Of the 4 Sprintex kits installed in the last 5 months in Sa it now seems all 4 of us have had coil packs fail.

There are a ton of us here in the US that haven't had issues...I haven't (yet).

How many IC kits would you say have been installed in US? The other consideration is most have fitted over winter, have conditions been good enough to drive your cars properly?

After installing a few times I question why the coolant pump plugs into the fI harness on cylinder 1 and wonder if this has anything to do with it?
Just a flying guess
Cylinder one is passenger side front. My plug is in cylinder 4, driver rear.

Where is your's plugged into?

I don't have the factual knowledge to provide how many kits have been installed in the US. I installed mine at the end of summer, it was hot.

If it seems to be the same coil pack going (I see cyl 1 a lot), maybe it is a flat out electrical issue.

I've got the pump harness on front right injector harness, looking at the motor.

Intercooler and 70mm pulley are going on hopefully in the next few days. I run 92oct gas so hopefully my stock injectors and fuel pump can handle the 70mm otherwise I'll need to stick with the 75mm. I've read having headers helps drop the psi a little as there's less restriction (I have JDL UEL). I also have the Perrin intake which supposedly helps a little. Crossing my fingers that I don't need anything else for it to work 100% and reliable!

Another day, the more i bug Sprintex. Have info on pricing for the 210+ now but promised i wouldn't say anything yet.

As well my coolant level is now below the min line in the overflow bottle. The shop i had the install done at wants me to go to them to have it topped up, freaking 50 minute drive /sigh.

Also a Sprintex stage 2 is going to be installed by a Toyota dealer here shortly, not to a dealership car to sell. A customer has gone to them to do the install.

It is NOT that hard to get to the coils on this car. I've owned a subie for 10 years. Might have slightly less space but it is not that bad.

My opinion may be skewed since I like working on cars, if you aren't a hands on guy then I can understand.

@evan - good post, but you aren't allowed to post anymore until we see a pic of your intake/airaid setup
I was going to take a pic and post, but it's at the shop getting 'grades. I'll post up a new dyno and pics in about a week.
