Bluetooth audio from android phone

My phone links up and begins playing tracks from the standard android music app, whatever I have on there. Is there a way to switch to audio from an app like pandora or another streaming source? Or am I stuck with mp3s on the phone only? I can do it with an aux cable but BT would be nice.

Anyone get this to work with an android phone yet?

In the settings of pandora, click the BT streaming option. Otherwise, it should auto-stream. Mine does. I'll try it out tomorrow without the setting to see if it connects and plays. I'll have to see what Amazon MP3 does as well.

Pandora: Settings --> Advanced --> Bluetooth for automotive.

I didn't have to do anything for Google Play Music or Spotify. It just worked.

Whatever I play on my Android phone plays through the speakers in the BRZ.. works perfectly. I'm even happy with the sound quality.

I've played the Aha App, IHeartRadio, Pandora, actual MP3's on my phone memory card, etc.. all work just great.

For the AHA app, do you just turn on the app and since it's connected to BT it plays that way? Or do you install something in the head unit and it controls that way.

I plug in a $40. Sansa clip (small MP3 player). Works in the home system, and doesn't drain/tie up the phone.

DI.fm app also works just fine too! Great for my music shows! Otherwise, I use my iPod Touch for streaming music via bluetooth.

I use Xiialive for my streaming radio as it supports AVRCP (audio video remote control profile). The app also lets you change between preset radio stations in your favorites list when you hit NEXT TRACK or PREV TRACK. Metadata (artist, song titles) are also forwarded if they're featured on the radio station you're listening to. I don't have my FR-S yet but it worked beautifully on a 2013 Camry that I was renting.
