ABS C1288 - ECU Matching failed

I have trouble with ABS/VSC ECU.
I bought Subaru BRZ 2013 (with some bugs) which was imported from Canada to EU. Previous owner probably replaced ABS module here in EU (reason unknown) and ECU is still getting C1288 code (ECU Mismatch).
I tried Zero point calibration and signal check with no success.
I have no idea how to deal with this. Also I do not know part number of previous ABS module so I do not know which ABS to buy if replacement is needed.
Current ABS - 27536CA002

ECM reprogrammed from US to EU version - ZA1JA01G - no success
VIN in ECM changed to EU type - no success
I am getting DTC U0101 along with C1288 sometimes, which mean lost communication with TCM.
But I have no TCM, my BRZ is MANUAL. (TCM = ECU for automatic transmission)
ABS 27536CA002 is same as in GT86 MANUAL and its CAL ID 27522CA002 seems to belong to manual also.

Could somebody confirm the part number and calibration id of ABS ECU for 6MT?

The lost comms with transmssion computer is bormal on auto cars when you reflash the engine ecu.

TheC1288 code seems to indicate a problem with a pressure sensor that feeds into abs\vcs conputer. Posibly brake pressure sensor.

The engine and abs computers are likely ok

Check the brake lights and see if the brake switch is working, failed brake switch xan upset the abs computer as it doesnt know when pedal is pressed

Where did you get the ecu mismatch info from ??

Maybe call or email a dealer in canada and ask what part number for your model car of abs computer

I got "ECU matching failed" from techstream and found it in repair manual also. Described as mismatch between ECM and ABS module. I have manual and part number of abs belongs to manual version also so I am wondering why it is trying communicate to TCM (with U0101 fault)

I guess I got it. My ABS ECU seems to be configured for AUTO not MANUAL transmision.
- ABS ECU is serching for TCM and giving U0101 (because TCM does not exist in the car)
- There is also GEAR POSITION, SHIFT LEVER and SHIFT POSITION with status FAILED in DATA LIST, Compared to friends MANUAL

My ABS module have exactly same part number and exactly same software ID as ABS module in friends MANUAL GT86 so I still do not know how is this possible.

Bumping this because I recently had the car tuned and am seeing the same code now.

The BRZ manual says to try doing the steering wheel sensor calibration which I did, no change. Steering wheel sensor seems to be working fine.

The FR-S manual simply says to the replace the ECU but I know the ECU is good. When I first got the car back pretty much all the ABS codes were on, but cleared after clearing all the DTCs except this C1288 code.

Just beware subaru\toyota call all the electronic boxs in ghe car and ecu ie electronic control units. Just be sure which box they are talking about they refer to engine ECU ans the ECM engine control module,

In this case it's the ABS unit, which is integrated into the pump. Doesn't look terribly hard to replace but obviously have to deal with brake fluid. I'm not 100% convinced it's the problem but having a hard time figuring out what else it might be unless something was changed in the ECM programming to cause the mismatch.

Just make sure you have the vsc\traction module from the correct car ie if your manual a manual car vsc\trac module and auto one if your auto

Are you aware of another module other than the one built into the ABS pump? I know it has to match the trans type since the AT has some additional sensors. I'm just very perplexed why it came about after the reflash.

Yeah I looked through that and will start tracing things out tomorrow. The module seems to be behaving fine, no wheel speed sensor codes and through Techstream I can run the various utility tests/operations without error. Trying to get ahold of another manual module now just to plug in and see if anything changes.

Ugh guy sent me a WRX module instead of the 86 one, but should have a used 86 module to test with later this week. In the interim has anyone else run into this, specifically after a reflash? I've checked everything else and can't find any other issues.
