For less than $30 you can find out what the CEL is, and not have to do the "battery-disconnect-without-actually-finding-out-what-the-CEL-is" method.

I had a code throw...

It was something to do with the tranmission control system and it was only because of my messing around with power, disconnecting, reconnecting the battery. I used a regular code reader to delete the code and it hasn't come back.

Sometimes if you plug or unplug the OFT while the car is on, the check engine light will come on. Turn your car on and off a couple of times and it should clear.

as above, you can induce codes if oft connection is lost while ignition on..

use your oft to read code
then google the code plus subaru

eg

google " U0150 subaru"

if its a communication loss code then dont worry

Bringing the thread back from the dead a couple years later. OFT says no ECU fault on a 2017 BRZ with catless UEL and stage 2+ tune. Code reader says P2270. O2 sensor signal stuck lean - bank 1 sensor 2.

Guessing this means the 91 premium gas I just filled up with from empty is not so premium. I usually run 93 but switch to 91 in winter. First time at that gas station.

I cleared the code and it did not come back right away. OFT shows LTFT between 0.00 and 0.78. STFT < 5 and AFR about 14.5 in normal driving.

That's the rear sensor.

With a catless header, wouldn't this be expected? The sensor measures the efficiency of the cat which in this case is missing. Wouldn't the stage 2+ tune account for that? I guess I should check if the sensor came loose at least. New gas might have been a coincidence though. I've been running with this tune and header for the last half year.

the code for catless is p0420, that code you have I think it s because you ( or who did the install) damaged the rear sensor or its wiring and the ecu is getting a stuck voltage from it, warning you it s not working

I reset it and it came back after a few days then cleared on it's own a day later. After a fresh tank of better gas, it has not returned after a couple of weeks. OFT did not read the code when the light was on.
