Who has upgraded... and regretted?

Not sure how many people who got rid of their 86's still peruse this board, but just curious what people upgraded to and what their experiences were. I get the itch occasionally, but usually settles down after a week or two and I love my car again

Same here , i sometimes get the itch to trade in my old swb grand vitara and my 2013 brz for a 2019 jimny.
But road driving brz and driving vitara where the road is not , are both still providing smiles per mile.

In moments of sheer lunacy, I have thought about selling my 08 tundra and trading my FRS for a new tacoma. Or the other way around. But the tundra has already broken (and repaired) most of the stuff that breaks so at 180 000km, it still has life left in it. My FRS needs camber plates/bolts badly and an air-oil cooler installed (which I have) so if I do that in the spring, it's a keeper.

Sold mine due to mechanical and personal reasons. Probably get another one in the future. I don't regret it because it was the right decision but I do miss it.

Kept the brz but upgraded to an Elise. The regret comes because the brz now feels so pedestrian. It is still a good entry level sports car but I'm very aware of the compromise it makes.

I almost sold mine to help buy a house. But the week I was thinking about selling it, our other vehicle got totalled. And after talking more with the bank, I was able to keep my car. After almost losing it... I'll never get rid if it. A swap is in the plans a few years down tbe road... (hopefully honda, lol)

I still miss the ap1 S2000 I had, but feel the FR-S is almost as good in some ways and more practical in others.

I'm not gonna sell mine yet but i've checked for other cars and my next car will either be a Audi A5 3.0 TDI or a BMW 335D. I love the car and want to do some things before I get rid off it. I know I would just regret selling it if I didn't finish it.

If you look to the left, below his username, it looks like it's a '19 Mustang Bullitt

Yeah, my wife says I'm pretty oblivious at times

Nice upgrade! I realize the title is a bit misleading - I'm actually interested in regrets and no-regrets. My temptations vary between E92 M3, GT350, 997.1, and F-Type coupe. Yeah all over the map, ranging from "practical" to "mid-life crisis". End of the day, it's not as nice as any of the above, but I love the connected/visceral feel of my lightly modded FR-S - one of these days maybe I'll get old enough (47 already) to move to a more refined car.

Until then, I have to keep saving for my kids college!
