Anyone else remember back-in-the-day, when we had two kinds of tennis (gym) shoes to choose from. The white ones (that only the town kids could afford) and the black ones that the rest of us could afford?

I bought my first pair of Converse All-Stars (black) the day before I started high school with my very first "pay check" from my Father's roofing company. I paid $20.00.

I then continued to wear All-Stars for the next 35 years for the most part when not wearing dress shoes. I recently switched to Skechers because I got tired of laces (or maybe it was because I couldn't bend over to tie them any longer, one or the other)
