it's entirely up to you and your preference.

metal flake paints like the white or the blue are very susceptible to variances. laying down the paint in slightly different ways will make the metal flake lay differently, making the light reflect differently, which will change the shade it appears at certain angles or light sources.

blending reduces that effect by smoothing what would be a 'hard seam' between 2 differently colored panels by smoothly transitioning between the 2 metal flake transitions.

Hey it seems you’re from Australia too, as i am. Where did you get your Victory fender set from? How much was it? And how long did it take to ship to you? Did you run into any problems installing it?

Both are correct. It depends on the age of the paint and the quality of the person matching the paint. Blending is for matching old paint to new or covering up a shitty match.
