I love the resemblance! Especially the headlights. Does anyone know about the tuner GAZOO?

Tokyo, Jan 15, 2010 (ACN Newswire via COMTEX) -- TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announces it plans to begin a gradual rollout in Japan in mid-2010 of its newly developed "G Sports"1 (G's) sports conversion car2 series. The series, to be sold through Toyota-brand dealers, is meant to offer to a wider range of people the "automotive seasoning" that TMC has pursued through its GAZOO Racing3 activities.
The G's series is designed for customers who strongly desire to own a unique vehicle, offering them a personalized interior and exterior design along with sports-driving performance. TMC has directly designed this sports conversion series, instead of the conventional approach of outsourcing development to a customization firm.
1The "G's" series name is based on the "G" associated with classic Toyota sports models like the Toyota 2000GT and the Celica GT-Four.

About Gazoo Racing... "I would like it to one day be a type of BMW M badge," says Toyoda, "but that's in the future." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/...iQ-review.html

Looks pretty good, but doesn't lend itself much to the basics of the concept with those huge wheels & useless wing. I'd prefer the meaness of the red panda look from the Option mag cover... not this street rice look.

Don't get too excited U.S. folk... this is JDM only. And it sure won't be south of $30K.

One of a lonnnng line of Toyo & Subie tuned versions for this car, I'm sure. Maybe we'll challenge the Stang for the number of versions some day!

DAMN! This is the best news I've woken up to in a long time. FT86club rocks.

Anyone think that Toyota putting out a tuned performance version of a "concept" signals that the exterior design is pretty much final? Thats what I'm hoping!

sweet! the car is more of a reality now! and G Sports sounds SOOOOOO much better than TRD, hopefully that makes it stateside.

any estimates on turbo power? i didn't see it specifically state that in the spec sheet, but noticed it was states elsewhere (being turbo'd that is)...

edit: those relatively average sized front brakes give me hope of a lighter chassis

I'd pay $30G's for a 2800lb chassis and 300hp turbo engine.

Just hope they stick to their guns of a low price for the "standard" version so I can have an NA car for the track/mountain carving too.
