Glad that Blackstone are reporting fuel dilution amounts, however . I was just reading today about some reports from Blackstone perhaps falsely reporting fuel dilution amounts. I'd get a second test from another company on the fuel dilution amounts at that mileage, because of what I've been reading so far about this.

Whatever happened to the days, where if you pulled the dipstick out and the oil looked dirty, you changed it .......
Or, as in with ol @Tcoat 's old cars, the oil was constantly being changed by having to add a quart every few days ...... humfrz |

My Corolla had a CVT that was supposed to never need an oil change. One of my shaft drive motorcycles has a sealed final drive with "lifetime oil" -Lots of failures means they changed their minds and because the bike does not have provisions to drain/fill it is a real PITA to change. |

It’s not a false fuel amount but rather just an estimate based on the flashpoint. Oil Analyzer’s Inc tests both ways. If viscosity and flashpoint appear normal, they’ll only provide you with an estimate. If something looks wonky, they’ll do an actual fuel test using Gas Chromatography. They will also do GC if you request it. I wouldn’t worry about it in a car that’s not modified since these cars don’t have fuel dilution issues. But I’d want a more accurate picture of fuel dilution in a modified car. OAI’s GC tests will typically show 1-3% more fuel than BS, IIRC. This is why a lot of WRX users switched to OAI. Without the port injection of Toyota’s system, the 2.0 DIT typically dumps 2-4% fuel into the oil. OP- Your silicon is slightly elevated. What air filter are you running? |

The service interval for Oil changes is 10k over here in the UK, so racking up this mileage between changes isn't at all sketchy. Not sure why its different for you guys?

Then stick with your manual and dont forget to use high quality oil. In my case i change mine at 5k and little more for peace mind due to notable change in weather temp (sometimes we are at 77°F, next day is 95°F)

The UK is a metric country so yeah I'm talking miles
The European service template does state under normal conditions the oil is to be replaced every 9,000 miles or every 4,500 miles under severe conditions (which is classed by Toyota as frequent short journeys, extreme cold temperatures) Its a little confusing but in the UK the Toyota and Subaru dealerships actively state that ours cars are serviced every 10,000 miles or annually (depending which one comes first) Another interesting note on the template is the range of oil grades, obviously this is country dependent but it goes right up to 20w50! |
