Yokohama Advan RSII Peeling

So I have had my Advan RSII for about 5 months and I am already getting some kind of disintegration of the coating. This is in addition to some bubbling that I found in the black chrome within a week of receiving the wheels. The wheels have never been curbed, scraped, abused etc, and are washed weekly. It took me 7 months to get them from Japan and I think I may be over these things already .....

I found that the paint on my Advan RG-Ds was also very thin and I got rock chips on the edge of the wheel in the first week which pissed me off. As much as I always wanted a set of Advans, I don't think I will buy another set anytime in the future.

I bought my Advans because I always wanted a real set since my Honda days when I couldn't afford them. The Advan RG is a classic wheel design, but unfortunetly the paint quality, weight, and price to be paid for a non forged wheel definitely leave something to be desired.

I guess depends on who manufactures the wheels for Advan makes the difference. I had a set of Advan GT on my Evo X and that was manufactured by Ray's engineering. The paint on that was so thick that even with the rock chips I had on it, it never penetrated the base coat down to the bare metal. It always stayed white. As for the Advan non-forged line of wheels like the RS2 and RG-D those might be made in-house. I remember my gold RG-D had chips where I saw the bare metal in the chipped area. That only took 2 weeks. Paint was thin on that wheel.

Contact the dealer you purchased the wheels from and have them work with the Advan distributor on this issue.

Just looks like you'll be shedding unneeded weight: RACECAR

Hope you get this sorted... I'd be pretty pissed to spend good $$$ and have that occur.

Welp, always wanted these wheels but there goes that idea.

Time to pony up for SSR GTV02's or the Volk equivalent.

I cant seem to find any warranty information regarding these wheels. There is too much search static for Advan tires. Probably not going to help that I have 18x8.5 +35 and 18x9.5 +42.

Add "-tire -tires" to your search without the quotes. There are many tricks to filtering English queries.
