They did some substantial changes to the fuel pump and internals in 17 but some guys still report having them.

Maybe regional additive package differences

Maybe I should take an HP pump apart and check it out. Probably won't tell me anything but at least have a more clear idea how it works.

I didn't have crickets until I had the engine swapped. I don't pay enough attention to notice now when I do/don't have them.
