Do you plan to keep your FR-S/BRZ Bone Stock?

I was just curious if Anybody at all on this forum planned to keep their FR-S or BRZ BONE STOCK. I've had many a times throughout my car shopping past when I was interested in EVOs, STis, and WRXs and the most irritating thing was never being able to find a truly bone stock one, that had never been modded or molested.

I know A lot of people tastefully mod their cars, however if ever i'm shopping for a used performance car, I want one that has Never been modded.

That's why i want a brand new one and not a used one.
You dont know who's been bagging the crap out of a car when its used (especially if its a performance oriented car, which the chances of it being beat up is higher than if it wasnt)

Probably just stick to small upgrades as new aftermarket parts come out.

I plan to avoid major modifications. My advice has always been "don't mod what you can't afford to replace". Get an cat-back install wrong, and you are out $80 at a muffler shop. Get a cam swap wrong and you are out $5000 of engine.

I know what you mean, for the longest I been looking for a bone stock 05 STI aspen white (bug eye style) before I decide on the FRS/BRZ all I could find was rape Sti either they been heavily mod with cheap aftermarket Parts, car accident, weak frame the list goes on... I will do nothing too major with the BRZ.... Light mods cold air, exhaust, suspension, big brakes, more wheel sets, most of this from the Trd side.... But no supercharger or turbo for me....

I agree, I warn anyone waiting for an used FR-S/BRZ, or any other used sports car, you are up for a surprise, no matter how good the car is, if it's beat like crap, it will turn out a lemon. I rather buy a cheaper new car than a cheap used car that will cost me more in the end due to bad owners.

As far as topic, I will most likely keep it stock until either warranty expires, or have too much money to burn.

I mod everything I touch... except for the '96 Sentra I owned. There was no point in polishing that turd. But otherwise, I'm never happy with a stock car. I'd rather finance this car and modify it than keep leasing my S4 which is twice the car the Subie is, because I can't mod it! (I've driven a STaSIS-tuned S4 with suspension/wheels/tires/chip/exhaust and it blew my mind, hence why I can't leave well enough alone).

I'm planning on saving up money for quality (read: NOT eBay/made in China) parts as they come out. I hope to supercharge the car once the warranty expires or is close to expiring. I want to upgrade the brakes with either WRX 4pot/2pot or STi Brembos, a good set of coil-overs and thicker sway bars, forged wheels with summer performance tires, headers and exhaust, and the aforementioned supercharger. I also want to do some interior tweaks to make it look more upscale, such as replacing the painted silver trim bits with carbon fiber/real metal. Last, I'll keep the body styling conservative with an STi front splitter and rear diffuser, and possibly the TRD rear spoiler (not the wing).

Good man. I am absolutely DONE with buying modified cars. Granted I usually buy ~20yr-old modded cars with 3+ owners, but still. Unless you know the work was done professionally and/or have the stock parts to revert it back, buying a modded car can be a huge PITA. However since I'm buying this car for me and not for resale, it's getting modded.

I'll keep it as stock as stock Auto-x classes allow. So I guess not Bone-stock. I won't be buying for a couple years though, so I may be looking for a used one and hoping to find the needle in the haystack.

I'm probably going to do rims/tires very quickly, followed by springs and maybe other suspension mods. Powertrain modding will likely be limited to a K&N drop-in and a catback exhaust until the engine warranty is up.

Replacing amber side markers with clear - guess I'm a hardcore modder according to the poll.

For aesthetic modifications:
There's a few I see myself doing right away...

For performance modifications:
I will drive the car stock for a while. I want to learn the car before making any modifications, that way when I do, I can be sure they improve a specific aspect of performance.
