IIRC, in this case (and in the case of the Sportlines) it's initial, then the main spring portion (progressive springs compressed) and then with deflection of the bump stops. So the highest measurement you don't really want to use

On the sportlines the progressive portion is mostly (or maybe entirely) compressed from the car itself I believe.

I will be testing the sportlines once they get produced and I receive them. I'll have some datalogged track data before, and after, plus street driving and autocross opinions to post in a review.

I will be updating the D2 topic soon with some more driving impressions... but not so much about the Eibach springs vs the D2 coilovers. I can say that the coilovers are even stiffer than the Eibachs... and that's about all you can feel from behind the wheel.

The Eibachs ease communication between the road and the steering wheel, it feels like a naturally, sportier setup. The D2s are a little on the harsh side, but right now I have them on the stiffest setting.

If you just want a slightly sportier stance then go with the Eibachs for the mid-$200 range. But if you want to tweak your setup I would definitely go for some coilovers.

Thanks for the thorough write up Darren.
Slapping these on this weekend as you did while I ponder coilover selection.

^^ what's the offset of your new wheels? I'm sure it'll be fine, and anytime you lower your car, you should be getting an alignment.

You need to have your alignment checked for sure. After my install, I was at zero toe all the way around, so I did not adjust it. I have no idea what it was before the install!

I appreciate if someone could give some impressions on the handling with the Eibach Pro's and stock shocks. Is the advantage of lower centre of gravity killed by the shocks working in a non-optimal area? Can you feel any difference in cornering speed up or down? Thanks!

Car feels a little lower and stiffer. Not much, but just a little. No negatives from my point of view.
