Went into Walgreens and my boyfriend decided to stay in the car. Windows are tinted so you can't see in very well, some men from STS/comm. service walk up from one of those prison van lookin things and start looking around the car. Old dude got startled that there was someone in the car and yells "NICE CAR MAN"

Several occasions I've gotten stopped at gas stations about to leave with people asking how much power it makes, what it is and they're thoroughly disappointed, lol
"Yo what kind of car is that"
"It's a Scion"
"Weird it looks like a Subaru"

Another occasion I got stopped at a car wash from this man from out of state, wanted to take me on a date because of my car, smh

Been also stopped at stoplights, with cars speeding up the same time I do, also smh

One woman was looking at my car when I took it to town to get sushi. I look out the window, step, step, look back, step, look back, stop, look, etc lol

I've had women fix their hair or clothes etc etc thinking I'm a guy driving it (insert facepalm here)

Love this car, could do without all the attention but it's definitely something I can get over, since the car is so wonderful to drive.

On the subject of the horsepower war, Subaru's new slogan for the BRZ should be "when they go high, we go low"

When I get asked how much HP I always reply "It is only 200 but is rear wheel drive". Nine times out of ten they will then nod knowingly as if that makes a difference somehow. Pretty much know to end any further conversation at that point.

While pumping gas at the local Thornton's I had a guy pull up in a WRX and start asking questions. He said he recognized my car from around town by the stickers (+10HP).

He knew enough to know it's not super fast, but perked up a little when I mentioned header, tune, and E85. Pleasant conversation with a car guy.

I don't get many comments. My new home down in Florida has a park right next to my parking spot, so all the kiddos dubbed it the racecar . Every time I get in it, they start screaming about it.

Other than that, Florida is pretty quiet about BRZ comments.

Got a comment from two kids yesterday.

Was standing outside my apartment waiting for a female friend. When these two kids walked by and said "Nice car man, is it fast? it looks fast" the funny part is they said this in english and my native tongue is swedish. I guess they thought if you own one of these car you cant be from Sweden.

My inner fender well was dragging on the tire on my way to work today. Some guy yelled in traffic that my tire was coming off. I said it's the fender well liner and thanked him for raising my awareness anyway, and he shouted " sweet car, I love red". First time I've gotten even a peep on my car, probably because it's not loud and is not a WRX here in Vermont.

Speaking of WRX, I see about 10 a day here in Toronto. Mostly blue and grey. I guess they don't have too many competitors. In terms of AWD, power, price, the closest competitor is the Golf R and S3 but both are much more expensive. The new Mazda 3GT AWD may take some of their sales but I think more from Impreza than WRX. BRZ's are more rare.

The competition is there, it's just the price per performance is so vastly different. 3 series xdrive, kia stinger, dodge charger, etc are things I would consider to be around the same segment, but so much more expensive.

This and the fact that Subaru has brainwashed Canadians into thinking they need AWD. Whenever I go north I play a game to see how many WRX/STi I can count before I reach my destination.
