That's surprising and disappointing given the video proof they could provide for all parties involved.

I'm all in for the proposed body cam regulation for LEO's. That should help counter false accusations and media drumbeat to reflexively blame cops with nothing other than political ideology for backup.

Hey, all kidding aside, it's great to see you actively here. You should come karting with us. It's a hoot.

I'm all for it as well. The number of false/unfounded complaints would be cleared much faster than the current system in place. It would also catch the few bad apples that are out there (yeah, I said it). The only downside I can see would be with the technology itself. The sheer cost of outfitting and maintaining an entire police agency, even as small as Portland, is astronomical. Then there is the cameras themselves. Getting some of the older generation trained up on how to use them, and all the in's and out's of them, will take time as well.

All that being said, I'm cautiously looking forward to when they arrive here. Cautiously, because I wonder what they will have to cut to come up with the money for them.

It would be a major inconvenience, but you have to fight this. Going to traffic school or such is just a reinforcement of the wrong that the LEO made when assuming you were part of the racers.

Good luck!

It's a pretty cheap investment ($50-100) and well worth it.

Stories like this scare me. I had numerous occasions in my Evo when a bunch of Civics, VWs, etc. would blast by me while I was just driving the speed limit and police would follow shortly after.

If I were to get one. I would want an HD one that was completely out of the way and hidden. Might just rig my gopro or something for the time being during drives.

Ha. It would be on my side of town as well. One of the downside of having nice things on your car.
