My FR-s is a cold climate (Canadian) car and it came with the Michelins. Region may have something to do with it in part, but I'd bet production date or expected delivery date may have something to do with it as well. Then there is the almighty dollar to consider as well.
I wouldn't mind a set of Bridgestones, but not the EL 400s. Some RE-11s or S-04s would be nice...

Mine came with the Bridgestone Turanzas. I was actually happy about that since they're all-seasons and I can drive them all year long.

Now to buy a set of sticky summer tires for track days and autocross.

You obviously haven't driven anything else. Try a set of Dunlop V1 Star Specs and you'll be singing a different tune! Huge difference!

Even the same size tire on tirerack.com was cheaper then the OEM's when I bought my set in May.

Bridgestone all season here (manufactured date July.) I think I saw an article linked on this board where Scion said that they were switching the tires from summer to all season. Once I get on a computer, I'll try to find the article.

Ahh so it must be the newer produced models. I indeed have Turanzas, I looked tonight. Not bad but still, not a long-term solution for me.
