Can't speak directly to what you're experiencing but new clutches will feel different. Go easy for 500 miles. After that it should be, for the most part, broken in. Clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate all have more texture (grip) when new so could seem grabby.

Good to hear. Right now I'm bucking around like a new driver. It also feels like the car is still "learning" after being unplugged. It feels like the first 25% of the peddle won't do anything, then I get all the fuel. All of that together is messing with my brain and left leg, and my overall confidence.

After 1 week without the car, it felt so strange to drive. I'm super paranoid about every noise and feel right now. I think my brain just adjusted to what normal cars are like and I have to re-adjust back to this rachet-ass experience.

The old TOBs jammed up so gradually you never really noticed. When I got mine replaced all of a sudden the clutch was really light again. It is normal. There are things you can do to firm it up a bit but the light touch is the norm not the exception. @Ultramaroon

Ended up getting her 7.5k mile ToyotaCare checkup a little over the mark (my OCD still kicking in when I see the sticker on the windshield that says 15084 for the next one), and I'm still amazed I've come this far in this car, even after only having her for about 4 months. The majority of the mileage came from a sudden roadtrip to Florida and back (about 2,000 miles round-trip, if I include activities while I was down there), and a trip to PA and back to see my cousin. Everything else is work commute and sometimes trips up north to visit friends. Only thing that could make it better is probably a set of coilovers, but I'm only interested in smoothing out the ride on bumpy roads, not lowering or slamming of any kind. Still a good idea?

Otherwise, it's just been me and that 1TB iPod Classic I built with all the lossless SEB on it. Managed to leave for work early today, threw on some Pierce the Veil and hit that curvy, hilly road that I commute daily.

My 60k km warranty is quickly approaching. I took it in at 48k just to have a one over. I noticed condensation in my tail lights and what look like water marks. Waiting to hear back from the dealer.

I finally got a decent shot with the mudflaps on.




It still cleans up nice! Too cold for tire gel ��, it looks to have frozen in -16 prior to drying.

I had to go through an adjustment period when I first got my FR-S, you hear and feel so many things in these cars. I kept thinking parts of the car might be broken. But everything is in great shape on my car, and I’ve adjusted to the sounds. Even other “analog” cars I’ve owned like a bugeye WRX didn’t feel this raw. I’m worried about the opposite of what you described. “Normal” cars are going to feel to isolated and numb after my FR-S. But I don’t plan on selling my car anyway, I think she has a permanent spot in the garage.

16 inch wheels with taller tires? Those stiff sidewall 45s are a huge part of the feels, no?

You're not wrong but he specifically mentioned coils. Also, sizing down wheels is never an option for me at least.

Looks great! I would prefer contrasting (read black) on my Firestorm, but the match really works on 37J
